Sangaria....perfect for group gatherings...

This is a great inexpensive drink for large parties. Serves 6.

Ingredients:
juice of 2 oranges
1 cup sugars
10 limes - 8 juiced with juice saved, 2 cut into thin wheels
1 750 ml bottle dry, fruity red wines (such as California Gamay or Zinfandel)

Steps:
1. Fill a large glass pitcher or jug halfway with ice.

2. In a bowl, stir together the lime juice, orange juice and sugar.

3. Pour the wine and lime wheels into the pitcher with the ice and add the citrus juice/sugar mixture. Stir well and serve in large margarita-style glasses.

Ah - I used to host these large salons. One time I made a drink that was wildly popular:

I used a bottle of gold tequila, added 1 small bottle of Rose's Lime Juice Concentrate - you get it in the booze section of your supermarket. And I topped it off with a two liter bottle of Sprite or 7Up. I sliced a few limes and float the slices on top of this "punch?" and people served themselves by pouring it over ice.

That's probably enough for about 15 people. Just increase amounts according to your attendance.

Beer..
Or if you want fancy schmancy - how about Margarita's or Daiqueri's? YOu can get those big buckets of the mix, add the tequila or rum, and freeze them overnight.

Crappy jello shots made with mid-grade vodka are always good party favors. Everyone takes them and its pretty cheap to serve.
