Well I don't think any differently between a Latin illegal immigrant and a European illegal immigrant. An illegal act is an illegal act. How can someone expect the United States to grant citizenship to someone who crossed their borders illegally? I mean if I snuck into Russia right now illegally and demanded citizenship, do you think they'd give it to me? No, they'd have me deported. If I came into Russia legaly, applied for a resident visa, and adhered to the requirements (getting in line and waiting my turn) to become a citizen, I'd become one. Which is exactly what illegals in the US should do too. It would be different if Vicente Fox would kill them upon returning, then I'd say grant them amnesty and put them on the way to citizenship. However, that's not the case. They have no case. They should go home and come back legally, get in line, and then get their citizenship.

I live in California so this is a pretty hot topic here right now. I admit that I am about as conservative as Attila the Hun, but on this one I think I have to swing more to the center. While the people in question committed a crime by entering the United States illegally, they do perform a very vital and necessary service in this country in that they fill the jobs no one else wants (not to be derogatory or insulting). They're also willing to do what it takes to achieve the "American dream", which many of my fellow countrymen aren't willing to do anymore.

What DOES concern me is the relative ease with which these people are able to cross the border. Our government has the constitutional duty to secure our borders and they have failed miserably. With the current War on Terrorism, this has become a National Security issue and had better light some butts on fire in Washington, DC!

Maybe specified Latino because it's been such a big deal on the news. Ah well...

Whatever the case may be, one thing remains true regardless of why _any_ illegal immigrant is here: they're breaking the law. We punish our own for illegal activity, and should not make exceptions for others.

Problem is, how to keep them out? Deportation isn't working. We can build a wall, but as the folks over in East Berlin proved, even walls, mines, and shoot-to-kill orders won't keep people out.

I am against illegal immigration because we subsidize education and health care for poor people, so we need to limit those who come. The illegals coming above that amount are stealing money and services from our children and from our sick, and we are footing the bill.

Non-English speaking children of illegal immigrants exacerbate this by requiring expensive ESL programs which further reduces funding for other segments of the population who were here legally.

Illegal immigrants bring a FAR disproportionate amount of crime for their numbers, no matter whose numbers you use, as well.

Other than that, Latin vs. not isn't the issue.

I think, like everyone else, there are some who are good, and some who are not. What I think about them personally is immaterial. They are here illegally and are causing a great burden on the US economy, wether they are good people or not. I understand the attraction to come here, and can't blame them for coming. That said, the borders have to be enforced. Those here illegally should be given 6 months to wrap up their affairs and go home. If they choose to stay, once they are found, their assets should be forfiet. Those who employ illegals and/or pay little attention to subcontractors who hire illegals should be heavily fined, and in some cases, imprisoned. The job market here must be removed so that there is no more incentive for illegals to cross the border illegally.

Mal cosas!
Actually, they are fairly nice people. Only problem is they are illegals and there's too many of them here. The reason we all are focused on mostly Latin types is cuz they are the largest groups of illegals here now. There are all kinds of illegal aliens in this country. You won't notice many of them cuz they are in the minority. The Latins seem like the majority and actually are in many areas of the US right now. Spanish signs are everwhere, English is a second language (if spoken at all!) They fly the Mexican flag openly over the US flag.
Bien Venido a America, amigos!
We gonna change all that though.

They are similar to you and me. They have children and are living life as they interpret it. I have known a few very nice illegal immigrants. One from France (I think that means that she could be considered "Latin." Right?") A few from Mexico. That's in the "Latin" category. Their jobs ranged from personal shopper to chiropractor to cook, wood carver-artist. They're pretty normal. Living their life, dreaming their dreams. I think that outsourcing is probably worse than illegal immigrants. The question of the day would be, "how many US citizens have been displaced due to outsourcing, over a 10 year period?" The mill workers and textile industry of NC can talk to you about that.

i think any illegal immigration is nothign more then an invasion, and all invaders need to be shot, then no more illegals will come through. Central america and mexico have more farmland then the US, and ALOT more oil. sheer laziness is the only thing keeping them from becoming a world superpower.

IThey should be deported ASAP!! lllegal immigrants do NOT do JOBS AMERICANS WON' T DO, there is no such thing in the USA!!! Americans will do the job for a fair wage, not slave wages. By illegals doing the job for low wages, WE, the TAX PAYING citizens of the USA SUPPLEMENT that low wage with WELFARE, subsidized housing, AFDC, free or low cost medical care and MORE!!! They are NOT LEGAL citizens, they should NOT get federally funded services!! They send part of their money back to their home of origin which is money LOST to the USA economy FOREVER!!!

Do YOU want to catch a disease there is NO CURE FOR?? They harbor diseases that if they were screened as a legal immigrant it would be caught, but not if they slither in here UNSCREENED!!

.I don't think about them at all, except if they are here in the US then they are breaking our laws and should be sent home . Send the bill to Fox's government .. It's not all their fault that they come here . The biggest law breakers are the American Corporations .They advertise in Mexico for workers to come to the US and then hirer them when they get here . That has to be stopped . Raise the fines on the Corporations , with that money we can afford to send the illegals back to Mexico .
