Many soymilk products are fortified with calcium, as much as 30% of your reccommended daily value (RDV) per 1 cup (Unsweetened Silk soymilk ref.). This isn't too far off from cow's milk (30-32%) Some cheeses can give as much as 20% per 1 oz.

If you are vegan or lactose-intolerant - soymilk is your best bet for getting vitamin D, vitamin B-12, as well as replacing milk's properties in baked goods and adding some good fats to your diet.

Think about adding almonds, dark green leafy vegetables and calcium-fortified tofu to your diet as well. They contain large amounts of calcium for your bones too!

If the soymilk is enriched, yes. Most of them are nowadays. Also, enriched ricemilk and almond milk are good alternatives. Almond milk is taaaaasty.

There was actually a study published by Harvard Medical School that showed that if you drink too much milk, it can actually leach calcium from your bones.

But yeah...milk really isn't that great for you. Humans aren't meant to be able to digest milk after they're about 2 years old. If it weren't for the fact that we keep drinking it, then we would lose the receptors needed to digest it. This is why if you stop drinking milk for a long time, you can't start again (unless you want serious GI problems).

It's much better to get your calcium either from dark leafy vegetables or food-based supplements. It's not really that hard, and you stay away from all the crap that ends up in milk (antibiotics, hormones, etc.)

Soymilk has a high concentration of isoflavones, a type of plant-made estrogen. It does not contain much calcium, which is vital for bone production and strength. Osteoporosis (weak bones) is common among elderly Asian women due to lack of calcium in their diets, in spite of high consumption of tofu and other soy products.

Cow's milk is the best source of calcium (especially when it's fortified with Vitamin D, which helps your bones absorb calcium more efficiently). Adolescent years are the best times for bones to use calcium + Vitamin D. Drink up.

The Sunshine vitamin: VITAMIN D is as essential for maintaining strong bones as is calcium. Many soy and rice beverages are supplemented with vitamin D. Adults are able to store adequate vitamin D if they receive regular sun exposure through out the summer. Rainy cloudy winters can decrease the amount of sunshine our children are exposed to, and it may be very beneficial to regularly eat foods that are fortified with vitamin D.
