I have found all races "NATURALLY" segregate themselves. It has nothing to do with a white person being brave enough to enter a predominately black Church as "Sexy Gayl" insinuates. I see it everywhere I go. I see it at restaurants, clothing stores, grocery stores,& amusement parks. The majority of people prefer to be with their own race. You rarely see a Robin hanging out with a group of Blue Birds. You don't see the Mallards hanging out with the geese. When was the last time you saw a Bumble Bee living in a hive with a colony of Honey Bees? If you want to understand human nature, you might want to go back to the basics & study the Birds and the Bees first.

often it is a matter of the way they worship but no church should close its doors to any one. I used to go to a Methodist church that was over 90 % blank members. no different to any other Methodist church just most of the congregation had darker skin. but then I have been to other churches which were 95 % black but far more spiritual churches all speaking in tongs and dancing I did not feel comfortable there. I enjoyed the singing but not the way of preaching and was not encouraged by any one.. a good church should always welcome visiters

Frankly I am appalled by some of these answers! I am of Native American and French desent and frankly would rather go to a church with African Americans. I as an Atheist was invited to speak at one once, and refused soley on my belief that shaking someones faith is wrong. Ignorance is ignorance, regardless of race, color, religion etc...
Thanks for the question.

"""Generally speaking"""Black people do not want to be around white people any longer than they have to. White people really don't care who comes as long as they behave.
We have tried to integrate churches for over 30 years. You can manipulate a church to make it mixed, but it will gravitate to mainly one color or the other. It will not stay mixed.

I was talking to a friend today just about that. we should be worshiping all together. we as Jehovah Witnesses in our Kingdom Halls worship all together, we even sit together. we are one big family. please visit one and you will see the difference. that was a very nasty thing the first person said. we are all God's children. we are all brothers and sisters. our parents are Adam and Eve. it shows you what a wonderful Father Jehovah is, he is colored blind and we are suppose to be also. we should look at the inside of a person. we are all sinful and fall short. remember Jesus Christ died for all not just the whites.

What century are you living in. There are many Churches today that have not only Blacks and Whites, but all Races Creeds and Colors. My husband Preaches at one of them and not only that, brace yourself, we also have deaf people who attend. Amazing isn't it

although our country is not segregated anymore, many find more comfort in being in a group of people who share not only spiritual, but physical attributes with themselves.
Edit: Damn! That first guy is a bigot, and could use a vicious pimp slap to his face. I wonder what religious affiliation he has.

Black "people" are animals and thus have no souls. To worship with them would be an insult to the judaic God most people worship.

People r human; people go where it's comfortable and, unfortunately, the positions would not be fairly bestowed. One group would feel entitled to run things, so separation happens when others are pushed aside and ignored.
