I would think that depends on what crimes they committed. I wouldn't have big deal if they were criminals due to tax evasion but I would have a huge problem if they were child molesters.

As long as they are not sex offenders, they have as much right to be there as anyone. Not everyone in prison is there for a sex offense. I work in a prison, these men are well supervised. The Correctioanl Officers are always there and watching. These men are in a level one camp and are doing their re-entry work. They go through phases, and this is one of those phases, reintroduction into society. They will not have had a sex offense, or they would not be working in that park.
Give them a chance, a lot of Offenders are really nice people, and most of them are in there for minor offenses. Supervise your child at all times while they are in the park.

I agree that inmates should not be working in parks where our children and grandchildren play. That's just common sense. There are plenty of other projects they can work on. I don't care how well-supervised they are, we all know that things can happen. So why take the risk?

Upon release from prison they let convicted pedophiles move into neighborhoods and do not notify anyone. At least the prison inmates are supervised.... Think about it.

No, you are right they should not be around our children. That makes me sick every time I see this happen. It is not necessary at all there are so many other places that these inmates could and should be working at.

They can,but what you fail to see is that there's a lot of money and politics that our govt. is trying to institute. If hiring a prisoner, who are being supported by tax payers (i.e. your paying to support the prisnoers' incarceration), is cheaper that hiring an experienced person, or a person that they have to train (which cost money to them), they are going to get a prisoner.

Does that FISCALLY make sense?

You bet.

You pick upthe tab, they're going totake advantage of it.

Is that grimey?

You bet.

In other words, if companies and our govt. outsources as a cheaper means of getting it done, so be it. Less money for maximum efficiency.

I like what Tweety said about Child Molestors being locked up until they die. As for people like tax evaders and people who commit fraud, I think a little sweat of the brow is good for them. Make them realize how the other half lives.

Pedophiles are not allowed to work in the parks. The convicts are supervised by armed guards, do you watch your kids?

ummmmmm. No, not a good idea. I like Arizona's idea of prison.....you want it? You make it. The prisons there are SELF SUPPORTING.....they grow their own food, they live in tents and work on chain gangs........that is how prison should be.
