Yes it is normal! Please don't waste your money on a Furminator! There are many grooming tools around that work just as well and don't cost nearly as much. I'm a professional groomer and have been for 18 years. I tried the furminator and it does remove a lot of hair, but it's like going over your dog with a fine tooth comb. It takes forever!!!!! All this thing is, is 1/2 of a # 40 blade with a handle on it. You can buy a #40 blade (which is a surgical blade for close clipping before surgery) for about 20. and take it appart and just use 1/2 of it. The only reason people think it is getting out more hair than other tools is because the teeth are so close together, it pulls out hair that may not be ready to come out. This is painful to the dog. Hair should not be taken out until it's ready. Many other tools work much better and faster. Here is the best thing in the world. Do you have a shop Vac??? If not, you might consider purchasing one. If you have one, clean it out and rearrange the hose so that it will blow instead of suck. Bath your dog, Since it's summer you can do this outside. Bathing loosens the dead hair and makes it easier to get out. Now take the hose to the shop vac and put it very close to the skin. You might need to leash the dog if it's not used to being blown dry to keep it still. They usually settle down when they realize it's just air. Go all over your dog with the hose close to the skin. As the dog starts to dry the hair will fly out, you won't beleive your eyes. Be sure to do this outside also. Doing this will get rid of about 90% of the hair, with absolutly no pain to the dog. When the dog is dry you can safely brush most of the rest of the hair out. Huskies are sinsitive about their tails, so brush gently here. If you are in a position that you can purchase a professional dryer, it will save you big bucks in the long run. I charge about 50. to groom a Husky so a dryer will pay for itself over and over. You can get one from Pet Edge for about 150. It is a forced air dryer and will blow out the undercoat of most all dogs. It will blow your hat off from across the room!!!!!!!!!! Good luck!

Huskies always shed their coats in clumps. Just brush the dog a lot.

It is normal for your dog to be shedding like that my sister has a dog like that and at first it made me wonder if the dog was OK. and it was just try to brush it as much and you can and it will eventually stop shedding in clumps. Brushing it will also make it feel less hot and more comfortable.

Absolutely. Get used to it. My mom's husky sheds in clumps like that so she brushes him in the backyard. The birds will come and take the fur to make nests out of!

yes this is normal it's called blowing their coat. they usually do it twice a year. they make a mess with all that hair it comes from the under coat . It's what keeps them warm and dry in very cold weather. Brushing with the right tool will help.
