What is your opinion on illegal immigrants?

Like if you think that the president is doing the right thing sending the national grard down there. I personly think that the immigrants can come in if they want.

America couldn't function without them to work on farms and other jobs that Americans aren't taking, but there could be a problem if too many people move into America, so it's a trickey situation.

I think that progressing toward citizenship and full responsibility is the best way to handle all immigrants, legal or otherwise, and that way they can all be required to learn basic English in a reasonable amount of time. If people are engaging in crime, they can be held accountable according to U.S. law and not allowed to flee across the border or back to whichever country they came from. If you make every individual accountable for his or her actions, everyone will progress more rapidly. I think until this issue is resolved, it's a good idea to secure the borders, but with humane treatment as a standard. I have considered several times what would happen if 11 million people (or whatever the statistics are recently) were suddenly deported, and I suspect at least one country would end up having some kind of a political revolution. The problem is, I wouldn't want to see a violent revolution of any kind that wasn't necessary. By the way, I think there are illegal immigrants from more countries than we realize, and it's unfair to label them all as coming from one or a few countries.

I live in Southern California, so here is my oppion on the state that has the worst illegal immigrant problems. The activists say that illegals only take jobs americans dont want, well the last time I looked the construction business never had a problem hiring legal workers, yet this is the industry that is the biggest offender of hiring illegal immigrants. The activists, say this is realy Mexico's territory anyway, you stole it, so we have a rights to be here. Well isn't is nice when they can lie right to your faces using stupid remarks like that, first of all, if this is Mexico land it would be dirt poor along with the real country, because it is full of corruption and dishonest people running it. Mexican's dont want our land, they want our way of living, they want the American dream without having to rightfully aquire it. As for giving them financial aid. Well my mother use to say that "Charity begins at home" once all our legal residence have all the food, shelter, medical attention, and good education for their kids, then MAYBE we can consider giving it away to non-citizen people, and until then, all we are doing is making our own children go without so that they don't.

No I am not a raciest, I am a realist. I believe in common sense and practicality. So I you want to call me a racist, you might want to look in the mirror first.

Well everyone here knows that I already totally against it. And here is my solution to this criminal problem. It is quite simple and feasible. Since being here illegal is a crime and the use of fake and stolen ID is a crime, we start enforcing the laws that are already on the books. Those that are here illegally pose a threat to national security. As such we have the Department of Homeland Security and the military deal with them. We build the wall along the border. Post troops with orders to shoot to kill anyone coming across the border illegally who does not halt when ordered to do so (this would also help to curtail the drug problem). All illegals should be rounded up and deported. Any and all possessions they have, including money, should be forfeited to the government. Since they are here illegally that means that the possessions they do have were gotten through illegal means. Employers should also be forced to follow the already existing laws concerning the hiring of illegals. Additionally, anyone who knowingly hires an illegal should also face time in jail.

I certainly like them better than W! On the day when a lot of immigrants did not work, I wore a shirt I made myself, still wear it in-fact. It says on the front, "Great-grandchild of immigrants," and on the back states, "How many Native Americans originally spoke English?"
I don't understand why so many people in America whose ancestors came here from another country are so upset about humans wanting to live here. Wow, can't figure out why that's scary other than I'd rather not live near those hypocritical people.

You are an idiot. I worked in welfare for 13 years and our tax money is paying for them to live here, have their child en and feed and pay the medical bills, educate them. They take jobs from Americans and you're a fool if you say they are jobs no one wants. I saw people every day who would gladly take any job offered, but what chance do they have when employers can hire illegals and pay less and don't have to provide medical insurance. I have seen Americans unemployment benefits and social security messed up because an illegal used their number. The current welfare system rewards illegals for being here in the way amount of benefits are determined. I have seen the elderly and disabled unable to get assistance they really needed while illegals got it. You are a communist and an embarrassment to the United States. We need to take care of our own citizens, not everyone elses. More power to the National Guard. Why not let the people who want them pay extra taxes to support them.

I think a couple of people here are confused about something. To say our country is based on immigration and chances are our ancestors were immigrants....", simply has nothing to do with "illegal" immigrants. I believe the question was "what is your opinion on ILLEGAL immigrants?" Yes, many of us are here because our ancestors came here....I agree. HOWEVER, they came here legally and appreciated and respected America. They were "grateful" for the opportunity for a better life. They didn't gripe and curse America because they want MORE than they are already stealing. Our ancestors also didn't turn once beautiful neighborhoods into slums, while people who lived in those neighborhoods all of their lives had to move out for their own safety and peace of mind. Our ancestors who came here legally did not do that...they lived among us with respect.

If people want to come to America to live and benefit from the opportunities here, that is absolutely fine. But do it legally. Follow the laws like everyone else is expected to do.

Do you really want to know?
I think that we should put the National Guard on our border while we build a giant concrete/steel wall that covers the entire border of Mexico and Canada. If any illegal tries to enter this country across the Mexi-Ameri-Canada borders, they should be shot on site. This would stop the flow of 10,000 illegals per day from coming into our country.
For all of you bleeding hearts who agree with illegals entering the country...I hope you have very large trust funds for your children, because at the current rate of spending on illegals is in the billions, soon to be in the trillions. Healthcare, welfare, school, insurance and so on. This has to stop now.

If most people who hire illegals were prosecuted, there would be no jobs. However, even if they doubled the wages most Americans wouldn't do the work. Too hard, too menial ..and employers don't provide any benefits.
It is easiest to blame those who can least defend themselves than the Mexican and American governments talk out of both sides of their faces and figure out how to divide the spoils.

So, why not pick on someone a lot higher up on the food chain. It's like swatting gnats and swallowing mountains!
