My daughter would play a while in her crib in the a.m. as well, when she was a baby before soothing herself back to sleep. I trained both my kids to stay in their crib til 8:30-9 and so far so good with my son

It sounds like he's on a very good schedule. Keep it. Don't change anything. As he gets older, he will stay up longer and the nap times will decrease to once and still go to bed at 8 pm. Both of mine went to bed at 8 pm and were up at 8am. Naps were after lunch around 1130/noon for 1 1/2-2 hours. Once they started school, they of course skipped the after lunch nap, and took one when they got home from school after a snack. When they were young like your son, bed 8pm, up 730/8am, nap 10am, up noon ate lunch, nap at 230/3pm, up 5pm ate dinner, bed 8pm. Most children schedule themselves. Sounds like he's got it right.

My little girl (6 months) sleeps for about 1 hour about 2 times a day...then she goes to sleep about 9pm until about 8 am...your son sleeps alittle much..but he is most likely going through a growth spurt..or he is just a overall happy baby that wants to eat, sleep and play..my son was that way but my daughter is what mt husband calls high maintenance

my five month old takes as many naps as he needs depending on how active he has been wither or not he feels good and if his teething is getting to him.
Goes to bed around nine and depending on wither or not he is waking up because he hurts or if he just rolled over and is uncomfortable....
Sounds like you are living the good life with your sons routine..
Mine is a little off because I also have a three year old to help wake the baby up and sometimes he does it cause he is throwing a fit of his own...

I read that they can take up to 5 names a day or longer naps to balance that out.

every child is different. I would think your son is fine. All I know is my son slept way more then my daughter did. As long as there is no huge quick change everything is good. If your still concerned talk to doc at 6 month appt

well, amazing kid. You should imit his napping time, because there is such a thing as too much sleep, so i would keep him occupied during the time he usually naps.
