You definatly need to get rid of her...and not to just anyone..If she is aggressive you will be just passing on the problem to someone else.Everyone thinks they are dogtrainers because they watch a few episodes of The Dog Whisperer.I work in an animal shelter and see what these loving family pets do! They turn on their owners often, They attack family members, other dogs,neighbors..Its not worth it for you to endanger another living thing like that..Its not Humane that the cat died that way.I know people bring up Pits responsibly but when A pit bites They dont let go...Its IN THE BREED! you have to be careful in rehoming her because if you find someone who CAN handle her they may use her for fighting or breeding and you dont want those aggressive genes carried on...We quarnitine and Euthanize many Pits because of bad bites not all from bad owners either..Alot from Great owners...The dogs act wonderful for us andI really like the breed but you cant put people at risk or other animals for one dog...You could be sued as well..Your home owners insurance could drop you...If you keep the dog put her in a fence where she CANNOT get out! The older ashe gets the worse she will be..I would personaly Euthanize it if it were my dog...Any Breed that attacks other dogs or people and means buisness I would have put down..Its the most Humane thing to do.....Good luck with what you decide!

I personally think Pitts have gotten a bad rap. I've been grooming for 18 years and have never met a Pitt I didn't like. However I do have a lot of respect for them. I never agree to groom a Pitt unless I have groomed it since it was a puppy or I know the people very well who have raised it. Many dogs hate cats, that's just the way it is. I'm so sorry yours killed a kitten. I lost a kitten that way and it is hard. The dog that killed my cat was a Lab. Pitts are very good pets if raised right. However, almost all Pitts are born with aggressive tendencies toward other animals. If you can find this dog a home where she will be the ONLY pet she may be fine. I would not put her down at this time, she is just doing what dogs do. Unfortunatlly, people need to realize Pitts were bred to fight. If you don't want them doing that, don't give them the opportunity. If you are going to have two dogs, it's generally a good idea to have a male and a female, as long as you get them altered. Having two females or two males can often result in fighting. I'm very sorry about the kitten and also your other dog. You do need to protect your Aussie from the Pitt or she WILL get killed eventually. Try finding the Pitt a home. Don't take it to the pound most of them will just put her down and not try to find her a home. Good luck and God bless!

Have you tried sending her to school? There are a number of pet store chains that offer obedience training.
She needs to know YOUR the master.
SO a few tips
FEED yourself first NO matter how much she wines YOU are the master and the master get's fead first. Sounds simple but dog's learn this quickly.
The problem with any breed of female dog is they are very protective. They just like humans have a motherly instinct about them and they will protect as such.
As far as her crying well this is a nice way that doesn't hurt try using PURE lemon juice or pepper on the tongue when she does. It's called "association" when she cry's put the juice on her tongue or the pepper this will play a mental game with her that when she start's to cry she will remember the taste of the lemon juice or the pepper which ever you prefer and most likely she will think twice (unless of course she likes the taste then well I"m sorry I can't help you LOL) These are both very humaine way's to teach her to be a little quieter.
Putting any animal to sleep should ONLY be a HUMAINE way to stop sufferin of an animal NOT a way to stop them from biting or crying.
IF you are at your wit's end then try adopting her out. Remind the people who are taking her that she has a temper around other animals or what not and if they are searchin for another animal in the near future then maybe YOU shouldn't allow them to have her.
IF you love your dog like I'm sure you do YOU have to do what's best for the dog. Loving an animal enough to let them be with another family is sometimes the best thing we can do for them. Good luck.

Unless a dog has been raised with cats, it is in their nature to kill them. The dog was only doing what its nature dictates. One thing that people do not seem to understand about pit bulls is that they are very territorial. Thay may play with another dog one moment, and have it by the throat the next. They are moody, and unpredictable where other animals are concerned, but they have an uncompromised loyalty to family, and are very protective of small children, even to the point of attacking a parent that spanks a child in their presence. They are very affectionate and playful, but they have a different social structure than other breeds, and those who do not understand that structure most time will see the animal as dangerous. If you truly love the animal, you will want to do what is best for it, and that does not include putting it down. My suggestion is to contact your local Humane Society and tell them you would like to find a good home for her where there is no other pets and she can be free to roam her own property, prefferably a fenced in yard, no chains or pens. They will help you to find a good home and you will be able to meet the prospective family and make the decision yourself, giving you peace about her future.

This is a decision only you and your family can make. I have 4 dogs. 3 of which are females. We adopted our german shepard at 6 months old and she wanted to become alpha female. She fights iwht my now 6 year old lab if she can get to her. We have to keep them seperated. Our shepard is now 3 and our lab is 6. I went away for a trip and my neighbor was dog sitting and knew the situation. They got together and my SHepard attacked my lab. Cost me $800 in vet bills. The emergency vet never gave her antibiotics (both sides of her neck got torn). I can't see getting rid of my shepard or putitng her to sleep. She's great with my other female and wonderful around kids and people. I know she won't attack a human. she just doesn't like lady.
When one dog is outside the other is inside, at night we kennel those 2. It's managable but not an ideal lifestyle. We may in a few months find ahome for her but i don't know yet. They are our family.
Good luck with what you decide. I don't see why you should put her down though.

Your dog is showing major signs of aggression which may become a problem later on with people. Pit Bulls get a bad rap for being aggressive because people keep the mean ones. It sounds like it's time to either find her a new home where she won't be near other animals or to have her put to sleep. If she's young enough, someone might be able to break her of the aggressive tendencies, but I don't think she's the dog for you.

Pit bulls have been banned in Ontario for this very reason. Dogs like that may seem friendly for a long time and then suddenly snap at a small child, maiming the child and in some instances, even killing him. Once they latch on, nothing can pry them off.
If your dog is beginning to show signs of aggressiveness, you can do two things: keep a muzzle on the dog at all times when it is outside or put the dog down.

HELLO all you idiots telling her to kill the dog should keep your mouths shut since you dont know what your talking about. Pit Bulls are aggressive to other animals for the most part. Animal Aggression is NORMAL for this breed. They have a very high prey drive. They are TERRIERS. This is NORMAL for terrier breeds to behave like this with small animals. and just because it kills a small furry animal does NOT mean it will attack a child. They arent stupid they know the difference between a kid and an animal. If you don't want the dog I will take it . I am in Ohio. I sent you an email.

As much as I hate to tell anyone to put their pet to sleep, It may be for the best. I gave a kitten to someone once and and their dog killed it that same day, ripped it to shreds. They didn't want to put the dog down so they gave away to someone who was going to be able to handle it without having to worry about it biting people. There are places who will take mean animals and try to re-train them to be civil, but sometimes they are just hopeless. Also, like some other people have already said, most animals who have already tasted blood will keep on killing and one day they may attack a human-it's happened before! One reason she may be becoming aggressive is because she may be mal-nourished or sick. Make sure she has enough food a and water and take her to a vet to see if something is wrong with her. If you can't bear to put her down, then try to find a place that takes animals like that.
Another thing, pit bulls are known for their aggressiveness and territoriality. Also, as mentioned above, it is NOT in a dogs nature to kill cats whether or not they have been raised with them. In fact, my dog is afraid of my cat and my cat is very small. Dogs usually don't like cats but they don't just kill them because it's in their nature(which it isn't).

Your dog is flirting with Big Time DANGER. Try to find a home with someone who knows how to handle or train. Be honest about the behaviour, to not, could open you to a law suit ( in Writing) Check with the Humane Society, if you have one there. You, and the dog need help. Don't wait for an attack on a child. Things smaller than a dog are instinctively PREY.
