I love this answer
"It's 6 days.
You are doing it 2+4+2=8 which in most people's mind is correct but here is an example to understand the Quran.
A builder says I can build a building in 6 months and while the construction of building is in the prossess, I can build the parking lot in 2 months. "
ROFL, WTF is that mess of words.
Or here, let me copy and paste an entire book as my answer.
Im going to guess, and say 6 days, becuase Satan loves to mock God, and his number is 666. So, I say the Koran will say 6.

1. Heavens and the Earth created in Six days
I do agree that the Qur’an says that the heavens and the earth were created in 6 days i.e. 6 epochs and it is mentioned in
Surah Al A’raf chapter 7 verse 54
Surah Yunus chapter 10 verse 3
Surah Hud chapter 11 verse 7
Surah Al Furqan chapter 25 verse 59
Surah Al Sajdah chapter 32 verse 4
Surah Qaf chapter 50 verse 38
Surah Al Hadid chapter 57 verse 4
The verses of the Qur’an which according to you say that the heavens and the earth were created in 8 days are Surah Fussilat chapter 41 verses 9 to 12
"Say: Is it that ye deny Him Who created the earth in two days? And do ye join equals With him? He is the Lord of (all) the Worlds;
He set on the (earth) mountains standing firm, High above it, and bestowed blessings on the earth, and measured therein all things to give them nourishment in due proportion, In four days, in accordance with (the needs of) Those who seek (sustenance)."
Moreover, He Comprehended in His design the sky, and it had been (as) smoke. He said to it and to the earth. "Come ye together, willingly or unwillingly. They said: "We do come (Together), in willing obedience."
So He completed them as seven firmaments in two days and He assigned to each heaven its duty and command and We adorned the lower heaven with lights, and (provided it) with guard. Such is the decree of (Him) the exalted in might, full of knowledge."
[Al-Qur’an 41:9-12]
On the face of it, it seems that these verses of the Qur’an give the initial impression that the heavens and the earth were created in 8 days.
Allah says in the beginning of this verse that those who exploit this information contained in this passage to raise doubts about its authenticity are equally interested in promulgating blasphemy and denying His unity. Allah is telling us that in course of time, there will emerge unbelievers who will make use of this apparent contradiction.
2. Summa means moreover
If you analyse these verses carefully, it speaks about 2 different creations: the earth and the heaven. The earth excluding the mountains was created in 2 days and the mountains were set on the earth standing firm and blessed and measured its sustenance in 4 days. Therefore the earth along with the mountains was created in 6 days according to verse 9 and 10. Verse 11 and 12 says, moreover the heavens were created in 2 days. The Arabic word used in the beginning of verse 11 of Surah Fussilat is summa which means; ‘then’ or ‘moreover’. There are certain Qur’anic translations, which have, used ‘then’ for the word summa which, indicates ‘afterwards’. If ‘then’ is wrongly used for summa then the total of the creation of heaven and earth will be 8 days which will conflict with other verses of the Qur’an which says heavens and earth were created in 6 days and will also conflict with the Big Bang Theory as well as the verse of the Qur’an Surah Al Ambiya chapter 21 verse 30 which says that heavens and the earth were created simultaneously.
Therefore the correct translation of the word summa in this verse would be ‘moreover’. Abdullah Yusuf Ali has rightly translated the word summa or moreover which clearly gives an indication that while the earth along with the mountains, etc. was created in 6 days simultaneously the heavens were created in 2 days. Therefore the total does not come to 8 days but 6 days.
If a builder says that he will construct a 10 storey building and surrounding compound wall in 6 months and after completion of his project he gives a more detailed account saying that the basement of the building was built in 2 months and the 10 storeys took 4 months and simultaneously, while the basement and the building was being constructed, he also constructed the surrounding of the building along with the compound wall which took 2 months. Therefore both his first and second descriptions are not contradicting but the second statement gives a more detailed account for the construction.
3. Heavens and the Earth created simultaneously
The Qur’an describe the creation of the universe in several places, sometimes it says the heavens and the earth (7:54, 10:3, 11:7, 25:59, 32:4, 50:38, 57:4) while in other places it says earth and the heaven (49:9-12, 2:29, 20:4) thus further supplementing the verse of Surah Al Ambiya chapter 21 verse 30 which speaks about the Big-Bang and that the heavens and the earth were created simultaneously.
Similarly in Surah Al-Baqara chapter 2 verse 29
"It is He Who hath created for you all things that are on earth; Then He turned to the heaven and made them into seven firmaments. And of all things He hath perfect knowledge."
[Al-Qur’an 2:29]
"It is who has created for you all things on the earth summa simultaneously made the heaven into seven firmaments".
Here also if you wrongly translate summa as ‘then’ only then would this verse contradict the Big-bang theory and other verses of the Qur’an. Therefore the correct translation of the word summa is ‘moreover’ or ‘simultaneously’.

This is totally false teachings. Allah did not create the earth in the first place. God created the earth and all that is in it. There is a gigantic difference. The God of the Bible created the earth along with Jesus and The Holy Spirit which Muslims do not recognize.

use your common sense and include the two days in the total six...did you not do maths?
Day in islam means period and it is proved that the six days mentioned add up to roughly 18 billion years. another scientific fact is that the earth is roughly 1/3 as old as the universe (or 2/6) which is consistent with what the Most Gracious had stated in the Quran....

Let us begin by taking a look at the translation of verses 41: 9 - 12. The Qur'an says:
Say: do you indeed disbelieve in Him who created the earth in two days? and do you make other gods His equals? The Lord of the Universe is He. He set upon the earth mountains, towering high above it. He blessed it and provided it with sustenance for all those in need alike, in four days. Then, turning to the sky, which was but a cloud of vapour, He said to it and to the earth: "Come forward both, willingly or perforce". "We will come willingly", they answered. In two days, He formed the sky into seven heavens.
A quick look at the verse with particular reference to the number of days involved in the creation, shows that:
1.The creation of the earth took two (2) days;
2.the setting up of mountains, seas etc., and the provision of sustenance for living things on the earth took four (4) days; and
3.the making of the skies took two (2) days.
The accumulated number of days involved in the total process of creation seems to be eight (8),. Obviously, there would have been no contradiction, if the matter had ended here. But it did not. There are a number of instances in the Qur'an where it clearly states that Allah created the heavens and the earth in six days. This is where the problem begins!
Now, obviously, in view of this apparent contradiction we are faced with a very simple question: Was the author of the Qur'an not even a person of average (even far below average) intelligence? For if the Qur'an contains errors, such as "six equals eight" (6 = 8), it would be very difficult to assume that he (or He) possesses an intelligence above a two year old child (?). Moreover, we are faced with another serious question: Why didn't the rejecters of the Prophet (pbuh) object to such obvious errors in the book that was proving to be "the beginning of the end" for them. Were they really as ignorant as that?
Questions such as these force us to have a second and a closer look at the related verses of the Qur'an. For if the Qur'an really contains such fundamental errors (or even just AN Error), it cannot and MUST NOT be ascribed to the All-Knowing, All-Wise Creator and Lord of the universe.
We are thus forced to take a second, closer, look at verses 41: 9 - 12. To understand these verses more accurately, let us take a look only at the related portions of these verses. The Qur'an says:
... do you indeed disbelieve in Him who created the earth in two days? ... And He set upon the earth mountains, towering high above it. He blessed it and provided it with sustenance for all those in need, alike, in four days. Then, ... In two days, He formed the sky into seven heavens.
I really do not know if any questions arise in the minds of my readers, after looking at these verses again. But as soon as I looked at these verses with the knowledge that the same book which is giving us the above information, has also told us that the total time of creation is six days, I realized that these verses are not giving the number of days involved in three creations, but only two. It is not the earth, the mountains (etc.) and the skies that are under consideration, but only the earth and the skies. (The Reader is requested to have a look at these verses again, and see it for himself/herself). The portion: "And He set upon the earth mountains, towering high above it. He blessed it and provided it with sustenance for all those in need, alike, in four days", mentions only a continuation and finalisation of the process of the creation of the earth.
The realization of this fact solved the problem completely. The verses, as I saw them now, were quite clear. The Qur'an in these verses was actually saying that the basic structure of the earth was created in two (2) days. Later on, mountains, seas and other paraphernalia required for the sustenance of living organisms on this basic structure of the earth were designed and created. And all this work (including the creation of the earth and the designing and provision of the paraphernalia) was completed in a total of four (4) days. After this, the skies were modeled and seven heavens were created in two (2) days. Thus the total time involved in the creation of the earth and the heavens totalled to six (6) days -- not eight (8) days. I do acknowledge that if the Qur'an had not mentioned at other places that the creation of the heavens and the earth involved six (6) days, the total process could have been taken to add upto eight (8) days. But keeping in mind that the Qur'an has mentioned elsewhere that the total process involved six (6) days, there is nothing wrong, linguistically, to say that the total period involved in designing and creating the earth (because the mountains etc. are a part of that earth) took four (4) days. While that of the skies involved two (2) days. Thus the total number of days in the designing and creation of the earth and the skies involved six (6) days.
