i think its just when your getting sick of seeing ocean all around you..you need to get on more land. also knowing the fact your on an island makes people crazy

Rock or Island fever is a mental condition, believed by some to be self-induced.
Basically, you are tired of being on the island or rock and want to get off or away from the island.
It is curable, does not pass through families but some people can be carriers without knowing it. Association with people that just arrived to the island magnifies the fever to almost uncontrollable desire to leave.
There is no cure, you can only keep it under check. One way is to become a tour guide to show the beauty of the island to new visitors.
