It sounds like a swell place, but how come I can't just be a kind and caring person and get in?

You have to go through Jesus and believe in him.

Why not just believe what you believe and know that living a good life will work wonders for you...
Christians don't have the market on heaven...they just think/act/talk like they do...If god created all people and all things don't you think that he knows that some people are going to follow different paths? Do you really think that ALL people of one faith are going to heaven but people of a different faith will be denied ( i have actually heard some baptists say that all catholics were all going to hell...)
There are as many paths to god as there are people in this world - do the right thing, believe what is right in your heart and you will already be in heaven....jesus will understand - where do all of these kooks get their authority anyway? Last time I checked Jesus and/or god didn't have a spokesman that he told me about..

It is not sci-fi if you check out some of the things that have happened in the past and are happening in the future you will see that Jesus is the only "Christian" heaven way. It's not sci-fi because of all the past, & present things that happened are described and have come true.

Personally, if such a place were to exist, I think that that IS how you would get in. Being a good, kind person would have to trump SAYING you were a good & caring person because you love Jesus. I would think any God worth his salt would have to recognize a persons good actions, and prefer someone who puts love into action by good works to someone who passes judgment on others based on an archaic bronze age code of conduct.

But, that's just me; I'm certainly not privy to the workings of Gods mind. Perhaps the Christians are right, and he really is an egotistical celestial chaperone who only wants to hear 'praise', and doesn't want anyone to actually use the naughty bits he gave them in a fun way.

Because to get into the "Christian heaven" you have to be saved, which only comes through faith in Christ alone. The whole point of heaven is to know God and have a relationship with Him. "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast." Ephesians 2:8-9 I hate to say it but just being a good person will not get you into heaven. God bless and good luck.

You must be forgiven of your sins through Jesus Christ. I wish that all the good people could just get into Heaven, but it isn't like that. After you are forgiven of your sins you are washed clean, as white as snow and then and only then can you be saved for eternal life with Him in Heaven.
Hope this helped....

THE BIBLE DOES NOT PROMISE HEAVEN TO ANYONE
Joh 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
Joh 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
Joh 13:3 Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God;
1ti 6:15 Which in his times he shall show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
1ti 6:16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.
Joh 6:46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.
1jo 4:12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
1jo 4:13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
BUT WHAT IS PROMISED BY GOD IS SO MUCH MORE EXCELENT AND GREAT THAN LOFTING UP TO HEAVEN

2006-07-01 12:58:35 · answer #10 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

there is only one way to heaven....ONE....repent of yer sins and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.....
as far as the sci-fi goes...50 years ago everything we have now seemed like sci-fi to those living then...
The Bible is the Word of God and it is not a requirement to get into heaven...Jesus Christ is the only requirement as listed above, but it is God's instruction manual to teach us how to live.
God bless this person and open their eyes to you!!!!
