Polygamy is a good deal for the man, not so great for the women. Men may prefer multiple partners; but women need stability and commitment and support for their children. They don't need to live with the continual nagging fear of, "maybe he likes Wife Number Two better, maybe he'll tell me to get out one of these days, then what'll I do," etc etc.

So I would have to say no, he can't.

The last verse was meant for Muhammad. God bringing up the problems muhammad had in his household. Qur'an is just stuff god told muhammad through gabriel. Some things are refered to all mankind, some to muhammad, some to others.

both are correct.......analyze the commandments carefully, the first is "if you cannot DO JUSTICE,,,," and the original text has no ( to so many) ........the other one is " not be able to deal EQUALLY" ....those two are different. example, if i pay the rent of 1st wife who prefer to live in the city, i pay 10,000, then my second wife likes it in the country, i pay 2,000 for the rent, it's NOT EQUAL, but it;s JUST.....simple, isn't it ?
