I would like to get a license just for the range, personal use. Or do you need to have a business to get one? Also, I went online to the FCC and checked out the forms I would need to fill out. Is anyone familiar with these forms? 605 and 159? They seem rather confusing to me.

Yes, you can get it for personal use. The cost is 80 dollars.
The form you need is Form 605.

You can use FRS without a license. Perhaps that is all you need...

If it's for personal use, why not get an amateur license instead. It would be cheaper and there would be a lot of people to talk to.
There are usually classes available to help you get the ham license for little cost or even free.
