Depends on the protein bar. If it's high glycemic index bar, then you're jacking up your GL, which reduces your fat burning metabolism. Furthermore, high insulin levels can actually induce hunger. If you get into the habit of having basically a candy bar all through the day, you'll have trouble losing weight. It doesn't matter if the candy bar has healthy proteins and vitamins and minerals added to it. If you are serious about losing weight, get yourself a GL meter and adjust your diet until you get your GL in the healthy range, which is between 70 and 100, except after meals. If it's too high, you will have a hard time controlling your weight.

Probably any are, that you buy in a health store, but if you quit drinking it, you will gain all of your weight back it is a life long commitment. Try eatting more vegetables, and fruit, cut out all sugar, and salt drink a ton of water 8 8 ounces a day, and walk a lot. start a few blocks and work to more, or try 5 minutes and work to more time.
