I have had that happen to somebody that I know....yes it would be very easy to loose your faith. I almost did, or did for a while. I had to realize that we are not worshiping people, and yes preists are supposed to represent god but they are not. It is very sad and disturbing that cases like this happen. I have jsut learned to look at God and not any humans. You should go to another church. It is sad that others didn't beleive you. Just remember that not all preists are twisted like that. Some actually have a heart of God.

No, that shouldn't make you lose your faith. The pastor is just a
human that knows the bible through and through and is a spiritual leader. This doesn't always mean that they are good people. Their mistakes and bad judgment does not reflect the the truth about the religion. As for the people of the church, no one really wants to believe that they look up to for spiritual guidance and a model for life is truly a pervert. Unless you can bring evidence they won't believe you. Now the only thing that should make you lose faith is an investigation into Christianity and noticing any gaps or contradictions, or the failure of God to show himself to you when you ask him to. Not the man who devoted his life to preaching about God because he is still a man, just a man. Leave that church, find a new one, continue to follow God if you choose or look into it and see how true it really is, don't lose your faith over one simple man. I am sorry that you had to experience that.

It might test my faith, but more so I would doubt the authenticity of my pastor's faith. If he tried to force you or made overt sexual advances, you should report him, and then find a new church. His actions were sinful, and the exact opposite of what God expects of a leader of believers.
Pray that God would give you wisdom in how to deal with this situation, and seek guidance from an outside source who does not have any personal connection to the pastor, but don't gossip about it, or people will not believe you, and in the future, take precautions. Dont fear all pastors, but make a rule for yourself that you will not go somewhere alone with a man.
If you live a life above even the appearance of sin, then no one can blame you for this, or say that you lied about it.

How old are you? If you are a minor, please tell your parents right away.

One person's behavior should not make you lose your faith, since your belief in Jesus Christ is apart from what people do. However, I can see that it would be a hard experience.

This man is acting unethically and should be reported to Church authorities. If they do not believe you, then find another congregation and don't ever go back to where you go now.

Whatever you do, don't remain quiet; he may have done this to other women at church and maybe someone else will have the courage to come forward. What a creep!

Hang in there. All the best to you.

The problem with humanity is that we're all human. Free will and the ability to make our own decisions leads us to do some pretty rotten things.

Personally, I believe that this situation would make me stumble in my faith but I would hope that I would remember that my God is perfect and turn back to Him.

If the pastor denied it and no other Christians believed me then I would find another church and hope that the next church had more faithful believers in it.

But, as I said before, the problem with humanity is that we're all human: imperfect, fallible, flawed.

One, do not loose your faith from the sin and passion of a man for his judgement is great as he tends the flock of Christ's own. Pray first, then attend another church, or carry your faith inside you exactly where the Holy spirit placed it. God created that spirit you guard inside you, not any man. That church is a building that pays a pastors wages and bills. Make a written statement and leave, or fight maybe a loosing cause.

this is the irony of the christian church and the theory that christians aren't perfect just forgiven. I would worry more about pressing charges against the jerk than your faith because obviously you already have more than a pastor does. I would lose faith in the church and congregation not in the god you follow because jesus loves to test you and this probably just a test of your faith.

First: you need to rebuke your pastor, he is under the flesh and may the Lord have mercy of Him.

Why would you laid with you pastor, knowing that you are fornicating, you are sinning as much as he is.

If something like this happen, you need to speak to the board and alders of the church, for sure this pastor has to be remove from the church.

Pastor that are like this, they are in the flesh and they have to give count to God for the church and the condemn will be even bigger for him, cause he have to answer for those that he made sin and the whole church.

Jesus said these things would happen among his servants..It is like the Jezebel in the church of Thyatira. Jesus will give the christian fornicators time to repent...but if not judgement..Rev.2;18-23.

No pastor is Jesus, so why lose faith in Jesus? It does not matter what people think/believe, only what God thinks. There is nothing SECRET that will not become known. Luke 12:2

Keep your eyes on Jesus.

People CAN always let you down.

Bringing it to light, will also bring to light where your church really stands...
On the Word or on the man.....

Find someone you can trust, even if it is from another church. Sometimes God uses bad situations to open our eyes and test our faith, will we walk or will we fall, and it could be a time for a change in your life and a move to the "next level" of growing closer to Him.
