two canadian bank robbers were on the run but they had a clean getaway. so one of the robbers said hey lets hideout in Alaska for awhile. as soon as the got to Alaska the were rested. why?

Because they took a plane and It was very relaxing, so they were rested.

Who ever said the bank robbers were IN Canada? What if they robbed a bank IN Alaska, and were then arrested?
You don't need a passport to get to/from the US/Canada, and you wouldn't be "in" the States illegally. They can make you get citizenship or go home, but it's not like people being deported back to Europe, Mexico, etc.

By the way "rested" is not "arrested" so I guess your question is why were they resting and not why they were arrested. It could be a long trip from Canada to Alaska! It's cold too!
