Hello friend,
Bashing religions are very common these days and while I think the question you posted is not actually a question and more like a comment on religion, I would like to talk about it.
We usually forget to make difference between the religion and the follower of that religion, for example if my sister can't drive and I hand her my brand new car and she crashes it, am I supposed to blame the car company for not making a crash proof car and call it a "no good" car?
If you want to know about religions then pickup the scriptures and read them and then decide what is wrong and what is not.
2nd common thing I have noticed in religion bashers is that they say "religion brought all the violence to the human kind". I say, if the religions are really this bad then name few civilizations that existed in the past which were not violent and were successful.
I on the other hand can provide you a great list of civilizations from the past that were religious AND were successful.
As a matter of fact, the most violent time for human on this earth started right after the Darwinism which pointed directly and indirectly about human races differences are actually part of evolution where whites with blond hair and blue eyes are most superior kind of human evolution.
No wonder Hitler had ranches where he was "breeding" the superior humans for his army.
Another common practice I have noticed from religion bashers is they either posses no (complete) knowledge and know about only one religion and based on that, they claim all religions are evil.
Just because one or 2 religions are nonsense doesn't grants one authority of labeling all religions. Pickup the scriptures and spend some time with them. Ask questions, find answers, counter-question those answers.
If one can spend 28 years to become a doctor and must follow the text in order to become a good doctor then what is wrong with picking up a book for that may help you become a better human being?
I personally am a Muslim and the reason behind it that I asked questions and found answers. I have studied Bible, Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh, Parsi and Islamic scripture and then picked what I believed to be helpful for me to become a better human being for myself, the people around me and the people in this world.
I hope you will open up your heart and try to understand where I am coming from.

Kara: Actually, money is the root of all evil.....you are completely steering in the wrong direction in life dude, seriously.
Kim: That's like saying that money is the root of all evil- money in itself isn't evil. It just depends on the person and what they do with it. Religion isn't evil- what's wrong with thinking that there's something consistantly watching over us and giving us a chance to live eternally? What's wrong in taking comfort that we have a Creator? Some people take their religious beliefs too far, yes, as in killing other people because their "god told them to", but it's unfair to say that all religion is what causes evil. It's humanity and their actions.

Yes, religion is the root of all evil. If we didn't have religion, I doubt al Qaeda (I think I spelled that wrong) would still be around and terrorists wouldn't be as willing to sacrifice themselves. The Muslim terrorists warrant their actions by jihad, a religious term. Also, if there was no religion, Hitler probably wouldn't have killed as many people. His prejudice would be restricted to homosexuals and Poles, rather than Jews. There are also many historic events that killed a lot of people that could have been prevented if we didn't have religion: Crusades, Inquisition, Salem Witch Trials, and many others.

With the evil so obvious in the world, and the long efforts of religion, almost all religions, to make the distinctions so that we can live better lives for ourselves and others, making religion into evil is the most absurd of logical leaps. Is 1=0? The answer is no.

Yes because the entire world equates religion to God and vise versa, Satan has been able to deceive the entire world into believing that religion is the road to God. Satan is using religion as the unifying medium to do this. Religion is preventing the majority of the population to reach the truth. Religion has been destroying the lives of millions of people down through the ages. Millions have gone to their graves practicing religion and in the process have lost their souls. Religion is powerful, because it contains things that appear godly, but are not.

First of all, don't confuse organized religion with an individual's Faith. God is not behind religion, man is. Thus, God's gift of free will cuts both ways, and results in great acts of goodness and terrible acts of evil. Man's sin is the root of all evil, and is expressed under many guises- politics, pride, envy and, yes, religion.

Religion....Well, I will tell you this. Man is the issue and not the Word of God. Man can and will distort the word to fit into his agenda. If the pastor wants to have more power, he will find a way to draw power (manly) from the words he speaks. If those words are not of God, he will find himself hurting other people and himself.
The truth must be spread lovingly, but if it not then it destroys. There is a very delicate balance between the truth and a lie. Remember God is Love and He will always lead you down the right path.
Man for the most part is in things for himself and not for God.

Well according to Christianity it is. God created evil/sin when he told Adam that eating from the tree of knowledge was forbidden. By creating the rule God created religion. Religion is the root of evil according to Christianity.

Just another platform for peoples' evil. Communism has claimed the lives of hundreds of millions of people in the 20th century. I think it reassures people to blame violence and hate on an idea like religion or a political movement or cultural movement. When in all actuality people are afraid to admit that people are inherently cruel.

Religion is not the root of all evil. It is ego and the need for self preservation. Religion , caste and class are just how this is manifested.
