What you have asked is true. people have been regarding jesus as the son of god who came to earth to die for man's sins.He is regarded as the messenger of the almighty who came to earth to bless peole, to teach them the virtues of honesty, truthfullness,charity; etc. But as per your question if jesus is the son of god then who is "GOD". This a question worth pondering over. Have you ever noticed that while every major religion has a 'fixed date' from when it began for e.g jesus was born in 26 BC. (I THINK SO), Muhammed in 622 AD., Guru Nanak in 1469 AD., etc;, that's not true of hinduism. It is "anaadi" and "anant" meaning it never began and it will never end. swami vivekananda used to say that the different religions are like the rivers which have different names but ultimately fall into the "one" sea. I don't want to hurt anybody's religious feelings but the fact is that god is "ONE". Tell me if "moksha" or salvation was possible only through hinduism then why did god create the "other" religions. Why is a muslim who say's the namaz five times a day and lives his life strictly according to the shariat (the muslim law) is still considered as "mlechcha" or unclean by many hindus. Why is the RSS(Rhastriya Swayamsevak Sangh) which considers itself to be the "custodian" (maybe) of hinduism has problems with the muslims and christians. Is it just because buddhism,jainism and sikhism are all religions of indic origin(buddha, mahavira and guru nanak were all hindus before they preached their own beliefs).Well god is one and will always be "one". Even the upanishads stress on the equality of all religions . So it's high time that we worship the 'true' god and live in harmony with other religious communities.

A lot of people believe in the divine trinity. That is to say that Jesus WAS God come to earth in human form. So they are one in the same.
And I don't think they worship Jesus. Jesus died for our sins, so that we may be forgiven. You gotta love a guy who will take one THAT big for the team. Jesus is more like the liaison between God and the people of earth. The bible says you cannot get to heaven but THROUGH Jesus.
Then there are those who believe Jesus was just a prophet. Like Mohammad was just a prophet.

What I can't understand are all these people who pray to Mary. She was just the person who gave birth to Jesus. Once she raised him, eh, her job was pretty much done. She's pretty low on the totem pole if you ask me. Come on.. Virgin Mary? Like her and Joseph didn't do the nasty once Jesus was born. THAT would have been unnatural. She was a virgin when she got pregnant with Jesus, but after Jesus was born... you KNOW Mary and Joseph were gettin' their freak on!!

EDIT: Hey, if you're so religious... then why don't you know to spell God with a capitol 'G'?

Have you read John 14:6?
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

or
Hebrews 1: 5 - 12

5For to which of the angels did God ever say,
"You are my Son; "(None)"
today I have become your Father,
"I will be his Father,
and he will be my Son, 6 And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says,
"Let all God's angels worship him." 7In speaking of the angels he says,
"He makes his angels winds,
his servants flames of fire." 8But about the Son he says,
"Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever,
and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom.
9You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with oil. 10He also says,
"In the beginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.
11They will perish, but you remain;
they will all wear out like a garment.
12You will roll them up like a robe;
like a garment they will be changed.
But you remain the same,
and your years will never end." 13To which of the angels did God ever say,
"Sit at my right hand
until I make your enemies
a footstool for your feet"? 14Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?

I'm sure if you ask the Holy Spirit to reveal this to you, you will find the answer.

And don't miss Romans 14:11
It is written: " 'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.' "

People worship God the Father and Jesus the Son both. God created the world and everything and everyone that's in it. While Jesus gave Himself to die on the cross to forgive our sins. If it wasn't for Both of Them, then no one would be here in the first place. So, people love both God and Jesus...I am one that does.

In Islam, prophet Jesus is a prophet like the many prophets that came before him. He was the way to God, just like prophet Moses was the way to God, but as man kind matured, so did the message sent down. Now, according to Muslims, we have the Holy Qur'an and it is the way to God, and Prophet Muhammad (SAW) being the final prophet. There are prophesies of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in the Bible to not make this conversation too long. In the Bible in genesis it says, 'And from the seed of Ishmael I will create a great nation, and from him 12 righteous descendants will I give.' The Bible also says that false prophets will be unsuccessful, but Islam will be the largest religion on this planet in the not too far off future. In fact, it is best to read the Holy Qur'an to get the story of prophet Jesus and his birth from the Virgin Mary. If prophet Jesus did not have a father and was of the spirit, so was prophet Adam who did not have a mother either or any previous human connection, plus he was of the spirit. If he brought the dead to life, prophet Moses brought a wooden stick to life in the form of a snake which is more miraculous. According to the Bible of St. Barnabas, Prophet Muhammad (SAW) will come after prophet Jesus. A Jewish man named Saul who killed thousands upon thousands of Christians but failed to destroy Christianity brought the idea of Zeus son of Apollo into Christianity. He never met prophet Jesus but managed to be portrayed highly and you now know him as St. Paul. There is so much that people do not know, or refuse to know.

he was not son of GOD who ever worship him or call him son of GOD he will go to Hell GOD has strictly
mentioned in the Quraan it is shir,k which is unforgivable Sin on the top
so why they do worship him i dont know that does,nt make any sence for true beleiver
this beleive is also called as jihaalat means illiterate
nonsence
christianity is not a religion it is just infatuation
May ALLAH bless upon all of us and guide us for true path Ameen

I do believe in God, but I worship Jesus because he is the Messiah...our savior. God made him that way. I worship mostly the name of Jesus in song...but I beleive that they are a trinity in one...the father, son, and holy spirit. So therefore, I worship both.

Satan wants people to worship anything or anybody else.People don't understand that God and Jesus are two individuals, and since Jesus was on earth for a while they want to give him all of the credit.But Jesus said he came here to do the will of his father.Luke4:8 he tells us to worship God.

Is it not hypocritical to say that God is Jesus? Why would God "come" to earth. This is where Christianity takes a hard right. God needs nothing. He IS everything.

When God made the earth and the heavens, he said "Be" and it was. So why cant Mary come to him and he says "Be" and it is. God has to have sex with a woman. Leave that to mankind to come up with.

God is spirit, Jesus is God in the flesh, the Holy Spirit is the power of God which works in the lives of believers. Three distinct persons working in total harmony, in one mind, and one accord. Jesus is God manifested in the flesh. He said, "I and the Father are ONE..." We worship God, The Father, by placing our faith in God , The Son, or Jesus, and we are given power from God through the Holy Spirit whom Jesus sent to believers when He ascended into heaven. Jesus, because of His willingness to suffer a gruesome death on the cross for mankind's sins, was given all authority in heaven and on the earth. He also said that if we reject Him, we reject the One who sent Him. When we pray to Jesus we are fulfilling the directive of God when He spoke from heaven and said,"This is my beloved Son, hear Him". Man's sinfulness separates him from God, but Jesus is the bridge which reconnects man to God, and you cannot approach God without first embracing Jesus as Lord and Savior. When we pray to Jesus, we are praying to the part of God which died for us, and the only part that has the authority to forgive sins.
