Yes, but it was years and years ago. Around 1964. It sat under the dash like anything else. It played the record upside down.

The car would have to have an AMAZING suspension for it to work at all well, but I'm sure it was done (as mentioned in other responses). Modern technology would have made it much better. Someoned developed a laser pickup for phono records the doesn't actually contact the disk - that would almost make the concept practical... But now we have CDs with 20x the music capacity of a 45 disk (that already use the no-contact, laser pickup concept) so only a nutcase might attempt it.

I've seen them but never in a car. I think it would skip to much. and why would you want one anyway there out of date.
