Brilliant first answer. Not.

What are you really afraid of?

If it's nothing specific, just try to relax. We all have some fear to changes in our lives and this is normal. The first couple of days are the hardest. Talk to your friends that are going to be going to the same school. Find out if you have any classes together, lunch periods, etc.

Make a great plan following the first week of High School. Something very special to celebrate the end of the first week. Something to set your sights on besides the anxiety of those first few days.

Talk about it to your closest friends and aim at boosting each others confidence. It's only high school, stay focused, keep your chin up high, and keep a positive outlook and it will be painless.

Best wishes and good luck.

Nothing, you are going to high school with a bunch a kids that are probably exactly like you--scared.

It will be a bit intimidating for the 1st couple of days, but you will be fine after that.

When you get your schedule, go to the school and walk around to find your way to the classes. That is probably the scariest part, if you go the day before you may even be able to meet some of your instructors and classmates. It will help to see some familiar faces.

Just remember, life is full of firsts, in a few years, it will be your first day of college, then your first day on the job.

Relax and enjoy it.

Same here. Im moving from a really small private school to a huge public high school, and scared to death. Not many of my friends are going either. I think the best way to deal is to find a friend that u hav classes with and stay with them 4 a couple of days. Just get through the 1st day, and things will prolly get alot easier. hope this helps!

why are you scared ? Is the high school you will
be going to known to have problems?

Do you have friends that will be going to the
same high school?
If so try to stay w/ them when you have lunch or
are in the hallways going fr. class to class

have you told your parents about your feelings
they would probably have some good advice

if it's because you are worried about making new
friends then join one of the after school activities
like soccer,swimming,drama etc.....you will be
sure to make friends there

good luck

First of all be confident... never show your weakness!!! because if you do mean people will take advantage of that.

Don't try to fit in or make people like you... that's just wrong and people notice that. Just be your self, be authentic and you will atract the people meant for you. Liking is something that comes naturally.

Always remember that popular kids are usually liked for their posessions or their exposure, not for their real selves.

I'm in college now and I realized that the cool people are not so cool after all... Popular kids at school are nothing in college, popularity is not somethig you find often in college... everybody is in their own thing minding their own stuff... so don't worry!! ...high school comes and go in a flash!

well, it is a scary thing for mostly everyone i think..

i remember on my first day of high school, i was waiting at the bus stop with my sister (who is 2 years older.. so she was going into her junior year) and i told her i was soo scared and nervous.. she said to me "about what?" and made me feel like i was being ridiculous... but honestly.. she was right. i went and everything was fine.. i ended up making great friends and having an overall good experience... also, at least at my high school, everyone was very helpful to the freshman... teachers stood at the classroom doors to help give directions if kids got lost, etc. just think about all the people that go to high school--all of them are/were scared about their first day.. it's normal.

i just graduated, and looking back it really does go by fast... so enjoy it!

and remember to study

Don't worry =) high shcool isn't bad. i actually like it better than middle school. it is very fun and you'll meet new people. but it is better to hang out with your old friends though, because if you don't, it is a little hard. if you are worried about the classes, they are gard if you pick honors and APs. But even those classes are doable and I have had them and donepretty well and i;m not very smart. so don't worry about high shcool. have fun in freshman year because when you go into sophmore, it will be fun too, but thenyou will be like, oh I should have had more fun during 9th grade. Just stay with your friends and everyhting will go well =)

It's normal to feel scared about change. You don't need to be afraid though. Just be yourself and not let things get to you. It's not going to be that bad. It's basically going to be a larger version of middle school

First of all relax--High school can be scary, but it's also a great time. Just be yourself, be open to friends, and new ideas, and just have a good time.

Be sure to keep your grades up, too, but enjoy yourself! It's a time of great development, broadening horizons, and making new connections--some of which will continue through the rest of your life.
