I know that we are all to minister unto the people, but I feel like this is what God wants me to do for my occupation. I really wanted to go into medicine, and if the Lord allows, and it is ok with him, I may be a medical missionary.

I got a call to go to the mission Field the Lord spoke it to my heart I had a dream about when to go and the Lord spoke to me about how long I going to be there. I have a call now to be a pastor. My pastor and the people I look up to believe this is God's will for my life. So what I would say to you is let the Lord speak to you and ask your leaders to pray about it. By the way what do believe the Lord is calling to.

Yes God does call people to the ministries.. If it is God and you pay attention then he will make it happen. You need to pay attention and do what he wants.. For example: If you marry the wrong person or decide without consulting God on where you are going to school. God will prepare you for what he has in mind.. Pray and he will lead.
Read some of the books on missionary lives, Gladys Alwyne, and there was a little scottish girl that went to africa..
Start working where you are now and serve where you can. God will make a way. You may now feel a leading towards some certain place or type of ministry. Pay attention to what is happening, your parents and pastor will help you..
The answer below this is what you should be looking for in your life.. she is doing what she can where she is and waiting for further instructions..

When my mother died I didn't have any idea where or what I was going to do until one day my sisters asked me to attend there church and that was the first time I went and once I did God gave me a calling on what he wanted me to do.
The first one he wanted me to teach the children of the church about his word. The second thing was that he wanted me apart of the youth program and the final thing he wanted me to minister in song.
All these things I asked for through my desires to do something and he answered my prayer and put me in those areas. I am glad that I started ministering in song because it brings me unbelievable joy and I just love to sing when he wants me to.
Now to the question Have I made up my mind?
Why of course once the Lord placed me in the areas that he wanted me to be I was then placed in other areas as well for example:
I am the Assistant Coordinator of Children's Church
I am the Vice-President of my Choir
I am the Personal Secretary of my Pastor
I am also the Secretary of the youth department
I am also the Bulletin Coordinator who makes the programs for the church every Sunday.
so see God has places for all his saints in the ministry and if he does call you for something like he did for me I would consider it and think about it for the work is great but the reward is so much better.

We are all called to minister to everyone. Look at Mark Chapter 16. It is our duty to share with others the true word of God and allow them to make a choice. Okay with that said....
I have a card (Business card size) that Says
Thank You
You Are Awesome
Give thanks to God the Father for everything (Eph)
(I can't remember the verse right off hand) Anyways, I am spreading the word of God to others through these cards and they can accept God or reject the truth. It is up to them.
Do this, pray to God and let Him know You want to do His work and let Him give you some ideas and go for it. You can also talk to some pastors as well as elders inthe church for ideas. Remember if it Glorifies God then I am sure He will make it happen. If it glorifies man then God will stay away from it.

As a missionary for 10+ years, I have concluded that if you feel drawn to this kind of work, go ahead and take steps to pursue it and see where the doors open for you. That is sort of what happened to me. There were factors in my life--I was ready for a change, I was interested in service, I wanted to go overseas--which lined up with certain opportunities. I never heard a voice telling me to go to Africa or anything like that. But as I followed my particular path I felt affirmation in going that way. Similarly at each transition you will probably need to re-evaluate where you are, and where you sense you are being led.

Yes. I have a big heart for reaching out to teens and counseling people from broken homes. I still haven't found a way to get in there and minister the way I want to, but I know that you have to hold on to what you know. You have to wait until it is God's time for you to do that. He gave me that calling a while back, and I am just praying that he lead me in the right direction. Start out by doing what you can to just minister to somebody. It does not even have to be in a loud way. For example, I try to just be a listening ear to people that are hurting, or I try to help somebody clean there house, or babysit, or give to people who don't have as much as me. If people see that, then they will see a heart of God in you, and God could use that for your ministry one day.

Well I don't believe in God so I have never felt like that. I think that it is something that you really feel is right for you, you should check into it. See what it is all about but you should make sure that's what you really want.

We all are.
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Preach the Gospel of Christ. If you have to, use words.

A true calling leads to the resources necessary. Relax and let life unfold. All your experiences will fit into what you are and will become in life.
