Not good. Children need a well rounded diet during their developmental stage. If she is going to FORCE her kid into being a vegetarian, she should seek the advice of a nutritionist.
For one thing; Meat is high in animal protein. This is different from Vegetable Protein. For another, vegetables and fruits lack amino acids.
Yeah, that kid is going to have some problems. You should mention it to her casually....I mean, you cannot contol her but what she's doing is wrong.
Copied:
All muscle tissue is very high in protein, containing all of the essential amino acids. Muscle tissue is very low in carbohydrates, leading to its importance within the Atkins diet. The fat content of meat can vary widely depending on the species and breed of animal, the anatomical part of its body, and the methods of butchering and cooking. Wild animals such as deer are typically leaner than farm animals, leading to the increasing popularity of game such as venison; however, centuries of breeding meat animals for size and fatness is being reversed by consumer demand for meat with less fat. Animal fat is relatively high in saturated fat and cholesterol, which have been linked to various health problems, including heart disease and arteriosclerosis.
Red meat, such as beef, pork, and lamb, contains many essential nutrients necessary for healthy growth and development in children, as well as for good health and well-being in adults. These nutrients include iron, zinc, and protein.[1] In fact, most meats contain a full complement of the amino acids required for the human diet. Fruits and vegetables, by contrast, are usually lacking several essential amino acids. It is for this reason that people who abstain from eating all meat must plan their diet carefully to include sources of all the necessary amino acids.

No. My doc pushes meats. It almost seems like more then veggies sometimes. Protien is a huge thing for toddlers, and you can't get that through fruits and veggies. If she is a very healthy person, then have her talk to the doc about soy burgers or something. I heard that has protien. And never forget dairy. If she is getting 2 cups of milk a day then that should be fine. You should really try to find a way to talk to her about it. She if you can get her to talk to the baby's doc, b/c with my experiance with my 1 and 3 yr old that is not healthy at all. Good luck

Young kids don't need a lot of meat, sometimes they don't even like it. But they do need protein which can come in cheese & other dairy or else veg. combinations like rice and beans. If she is only eating fruits and vegetables, it is possible she needs to get more protein in her diet. Fruits should not be the main staple, due to sugars.

NO, That is not good. the only other thing that has the same nutrients in it that meat does is formula and since shes to im assuming she off that. The baby should have a meat a veggie and patatos or fries or rice. If that keeps happening that babies organs are going to go into "lazy mode" and that can cause her to be undernourished.
HAVE YOU TALKED TO HER that baby could be in serious danger

You don't need meat to be healthy....thousands of very healthy vegetarians have proved that....but you do need protein and you can get that from sources other then meat. Legumes are a very good source and if she's feeding the child vegetables then she's probably got that covered.
The cattle industry likes to say you need meat to be healthy...but you don't, as long as the child is getting the daily requirements of nutrition, he/she will be fine!

You mean vegetarian meals? Sure. Probably she is drinking milk which would add supplements for bone growth and such. At that age, a little bread would be nice soon.
PS Make sure you understand the whole picture, and you are there for every meal she has, before judging the parentage of your boyfriend's sister.

She's lucky to have a toddler that is willing to eat fruit and vegetables. My picky 3 year old will only eat mac 'n cheese and hot dogs. I get her to eat carrots every night but it's a battle.

normal ...no my 2 yr old would rather eat fruit and veggies rather than meat at this stage..but some one should talk to her about introducing starches and meats to her. if she dosent like them thats fine too. there are WIC programs that will help her in making more choices in what to feed her child. theres baby products out there that help in this also in the baby isle of any grocery store.

It could be ok if they supplement the diet with supplements. Just ask the mother maybe child has a sensitivity to certain things. just ask the mother in a kind way if the child has stuff like that so you could know what to feed her. Normally most people aren't offended. Good Luck. :)
