What do you believe? You have to believe in something because most if not all people have a belief system of some sort. Okay, if you do not believe in God then you believe in the world.

Let me see if I can put this in a easy understanding way. Your greeting cards should not reference the following. Love, understanding, wisdom, compassion, faith, gentleness, kindness, self-control, joy, peace, patience, goodness.

Okay, back to your original question - How do Atheists comfort a dying family member? You have to ask yourself this question and go from there. What do you or the Atheist believe in? What is part of your moral belief system?

Atheists are not necessarily heartless or immoral. We can care about people even without believing in your god. No god can be the only source of love, as proven by us.

We might express sentiments along the lines of "She/He/You lived life to the fullest" or "Our memories will last forever, long after we're gone". How a person lived life and what he or she did while alive is important to us. How he or she treated others is the measure of a good person, not mere faith. Let us honor the dead and dying based on how they lived. In fact, let's forget all about crying over our loss (which never made sense in an honestly religious community anyway, if believers went to heaven), and celebrate their lives.

Being an atheist means you do not believe in God, it has nothing to do with loving a family member nor comforting a dying person.

Your cards would be hate cards by the sound of it not atheist cards.

Good luck in your venture. LOL, LOL. ROFL.

This is a stupid question. Atheists aren't evil there no more evil than anyone else anyway. Ur question is ignorant, very narrow minded and insulting. Why are u making it out to be like an Atheist would be glad someone was dieing? Ur question is just plain stupid and nasty.

Wow, that's both ignorant and offensive. I hope your bedside manner is better than that. I usually don't mention death around the dying, it's bad form. Aside from that, maybe try dealing directly with the issue without any of the spiritual babble. People are people, ignorance is the enemy, not differing beliefs.

It is wrong for you to assume that because a person doesn't believe in your god that they are without human emotion and care.

It is shameful that some people require a god and a fear of death/hell to be forced to behave. Without god they would be wretched scum of the earth. I'm thankful they have found a way to control their evil tendencies.

You, on the other hand, might want to continue looking.

Reality bites are nice...but not too comforting. An afterlife belief does not depend upon a belief in God. There is spirituality within all human beings...it is a part of our design.

To my mother with cancer, I'm sorry you're ill, but you'll be home soon. Isn't it great that despite religion's best attempts to hold them back, scientists were still able to find a treatment for your disease?
