What humbles me even more than that is that He is going to roll up the heavens like a scroll.

Isaiah 34:4 And all the host of the heavens shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled like a scroll; and all their host shall droop, as a leaf falls off from the vine, and as the falling from the fig tree.

2 Peter 3:7 But the present heavens and the earth being kept in store by the same Word, are being kept for fire until the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. 8 But, beloved, let not this one thing be hidden from you, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slow concerning His promise, as some count slowness, but is long-suffering toward us, not purposing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a rushing noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat. And the earth and the works in it will be burned up.

Not really. Because Christianity still gives you some sense of importance. There are far more humbling things to say than that.

Yes. Because God is trying to describe how Great he is in terms that Humans will understand. But, it's not done in a degrading way like some think. BTW: We are not "like" them. We are "liken" to them--means two different things.
