"Imagine there's no heaven.
It's easy if you try.
No hell below us.
Above us only sky.
Imagine all the people.
Living for today."-John Lenon

God and religion are two very different concepts. Religion is a means of control by invoking God. God is a spiritual search. I consider myself an non dogmatic Atheist and refuse to completely reject any possiblity that there could be a God or Higher Power. Beyond that I don't think that Religion is the problem itself, but more peoples use of Religion to control.

Are you a Communist? A Communist thinks there should be no Religion but guess what they could never eliminate Religion so you are going to have to learn to live with the existance of Religion.

No, although I don't have any religion . I know many friends who are religion. Some are not. And by comparing them, I find that those who have religion are much kinder and more helpful than no religion.

I am a Christian and am attending a local seminary. Religion usually implies rituals and stuff. But Christianity is not so much a religion per se; all Christianity boils down to is basically, just one thing, it is about how a regular human being can have a healthy relationship with the God who created all things. Christianity is a liberating belief that truly gives freedom to human beings. By freedom, please don't mistaken that as allowing you to do whatever you want to do. Doing everything that you want to do, in a sense, is just an abuse. Abuse and freedom are not two entirely different things. Freedom also comes with responsibility. The Bible is like a car manual. Car manual shows you what you can do and what you cannot do with your car. When the car has certain problems, what you need to do to fix it. By following the guidelines in the car manual, it will make your life easier when you are operating your car. Bible is our life manual. It tells us what our life is and is not designed to do. By following the guidelines in the Bible, it will make our lives easier. A car manual is self-authoritative and self-validated. The car manual says this car does this or does that and yet I have never read a car manual showing proofs to validate its claims. If one wants to use a car to do something that it is not designed to do (let's say one want to use his/her car as a rocket to go to space), one will have a hard time doing things. The same way about life, Bible is telling us what we are designed to do; the intention is to make our lives easier. Not every person reads the car manual from the beginning to the end and many people simply don't read it at all. For people like that, they won't know the full potential of their cars and just operating their cars based upon assumptions. The same way with life too; the Bible tells people about the full potential of their lives. It is a book that truly liberates people to their fullest capability. I have lived my life both as a non-Christian and as a Christian. Before I believed in Christ, I just thought that Christianity was a religion full of restrictions and I didn't understand why people would be "stupid" enough to believe in stuff like that. But you know what? In a sense, believing in Christ is like going on a tour to a place that you are not familiar with. Before going on a tour (especially outside of your country), I would find out whether I need to get a visiting visa, how long will it take for me to get the visa, and how long the visa lasts...etc. And of course, I need to find out which tourist attractions are actually worth my time. When it comes to experiences, you can ask people who have been there; you can read books or magazines about that place; you can watch DVD or VCD about that place; you can do a lot of things to see what the experience will be like. You can do all the preparations you can but there is always something that they cannot provide you, which is how YOU would feel. You will need to go and experience it for yourself. Nothing can beat the first hand experience. From my first hand experience, I can tell you that Christianity is wonderful. There are things that you just won't understand what it really is until you experience it.

It would've certainly made the world a better place and we probably would be spread across the solar system by now, had it not been for the buffoons who stunt scientific, FACTUAL progress with irrationality and threats to those who refuse to be brainwashed. Just look at them all on here, for christs sake!(pun intended) They all go blue in the face and rant to themselves if anyone DARES question their beliefs...with no solid foundations, it's understandable they act that way. No-one likes to be shown their whole life has been a farce...

I think there should be only one religion, so people wouldn't fight over which religion is the right one. that is just my opinion.

My thinking is it should be kept as a personal
matter rather than keep asking and collecting money from people or better yet become really
fanatic and promote killing of others.
There is nothing wrong with saying a prayer before your meal, as long as you keep it to yourself and not impose it on others.
