I don't think it would be particularly effective. For one thing, if you want to broadcast any electromagentic signal whether it's AM, Fm, or Microwave, it must have an impedance match to the final amplifier in your transmitter. In addition, the neutral wire in a house is a direct path to ground, so I don't think your signal would get very far.
And finally if you accidently wire an electrical outlet or device incorrectly, you could end up with what's called a "hot neutral", and have 115 volts on the downstream side of your transmitter.

It would work, as would an invert listening device that would contact you to every house in the hood. Long ariel, great contact device. the neutral wire is a potential contact to everyone around you. You could even build an intruder alarm and send an alert to every house in the hood. Think about water next, imagine it as electric, then divert some along a canal and you have free electric!!! The rabbit hole gets really deep when you go lateral.

Neutral is Earth
if you really a techie I can tell you that the wavelengh is between 4 and 5 inches and you make coil alongside the neutral to 'extract' the signal, then depending on how the national grid is switched you get lots of channels, not worth it now there is digital my home made system is out dated

Messing with your house electrics is kind of against the law, isn't it? You need a qualified electrician to do any work otherwise it's not legal. Besides, it may just end up draw too much power through your radio equipment and BOOM!

The neutral is connected to earth ground potential. You would not be able to generate a radiated signal, as the potential of the neutrals would be held at ground.

dont be stupid..... cause it wouldn't work
Ariels have to terminated to a certain resistance for a start to even work properly. Direction and wavelength capture is also critical for a good reception.
