If you say Having faith means knowing, that's not true because if it was true, you wouldn't be using the word faith.

If you say you have faith that god loves you, you must not know it.

If you say having faith is believing things that can't be proven, that still doesn't mean you know god exist. It means you wish god exist

I would like to see what you people have to say now that I probably guessed all the bullshit you might try to throw at me

I believe that no one really believes in god. You're just a bunch of mentally disturbed fearful agnostics

THE TRUTH TO THE MATTER IS, IF YOU KNOW SOMETHING IS TRUE, YOU WOULD USE THE WORD "KNOW". WHEN REFERING TO IT AND NOT THE WORD "FAITH" THAT'S THE BOTTOM LINE. STOP LYING TO YOURSELVES

Hey, nothing wrong with Agnostics. Not having proof that a God does or doesn't exist makes more sense than believing one does not (which makes as much sense as believing one does).

It's easy to understand why you feel the way you do and why you have already anticipated receiving assorted crappy answers. Let me sort something out for you and the readers of this material. We live in a world that has been saturated with so much **** from religious leaders (usually motivated by money, fame or their own twisted thinking that people generally don't know what to believe. Well that's the problem with faith and beliefs. The very nature of the those two words is that they contain some doubt. I believe today will be a great day.......BUT, maybe not! No, it falls way short of the mark. There is another realm that most (the vast majority) know nothing about. It is the realm of certainty. This is possible only when you have seen proof. Not conjecture or supposition. Proof exists if you seek it out. A good starting point would be the book "The Bible Codes". Over 600,000 letters that disclosed hidden answers to all the whys. To all answers of why is this or why do we have to do that comes back the pat answer of the religious: "Because it is written!" What a load of crap from "leaders" that know less than nothing. The real answers are out there and once you have proof, you will be able to live your life with total certainty (and never look back).

Agnostic isn't the proper term considering it means not being sure whether a god exists or not. People can faith in something whether it exists or not. I am an Atheist and I respect what other people have faith in, whether it is a god, a person or an inanimate object.

You can't say that no one really believes in god, because people all around the globe believe, worship, pray and have faith in the gods they, well, believe in.

It's like, you tell a person you have faith in them but you KNOW he/she's there.. in a way, what you're saying contradicts itself.

Everyone has faith in something, doesn't have to be a god - definitely not for me though.

You only have a half of a definition of faith. It is not only knowing but believing. I might know that the river has a dam holding back the water but unless I believe that it will continue to hold back the water I won't build my house below it. Same with true saving faith in Jesus Christ. I might know about Him even believe He is who He said He is but unless I believe that He died for MY sins then I don't really have true faith. If I truly believe it than I with great joy and love follow Him gladly. If I don't I won't . This is why you are hostile to faith because you have never had it or experience it, but that doesn't mean others don't have it. Only a Divine work in the soul can make a person believe. That is why those who truly know Christ you can never get them to deny it where as those who have never been born again will never know and always either deny it or just be deceived into thinking they have faith never understanding why they haven't experience the power of it, the very power of God.

Hebrews 11:1
FAITH MEANS BEING SURE IN THINGS WE HOPE FOR, AND KNOWING SOMETHING IS REAL EVEN THOUGH WE CANNOT SEE IT.

I KNOW THAT GOD IS REAL, AND I BELIEVE GOD HAS CHOOSE TO REVEAL HIMSELF TO US ALL. PEOPLE NORMALLY HEAR MY OPINION AND BEGAN HATING ME. IM NOT HERE TO MAKE A MOCKERY OF YOU. BUT TO BE FRIENDLY. THEREFORE THE RESPECT IS NEUTRAL. WHAT IM ABOUT TO SAY IS NOT MEANT TO BE OFFENSIVE.

There are only three options for the existence of the universe. One, that it has always been. Two, that it came into being by itself. Three, that it was created. The first option (known as the steady state theory –that the universe is eternal) has been thrown out. Scientific evidence has ruled that out. Evidence like the motion of the galaxies, and the background radiation echo all point to the fact that the universe sprung into existence at a particular point in time, something scientists call the Big Bang. I’m sure you’ve heard of it. Option two is impossible. It would be impossible for the universe to create itself, because before it existed there would have been nothing to do anything. And we all know that nothing cannot do anything. Nothing is literally no thing. It can’t see, smell, act, think. It is nothing. So option one and two are thrown out based on scientific and philosophical grounds. Option three, that something outside of the universe actually created the universe, is the only reasonable option. Let’s imagine I am holding up a painting. When you see a painting on a wall, what proof do you need to establish the fact that a painter exists? Nothing else besides the painting itself. The painting is absolute proof that there was a painter. You don’t need to see the painter to believe that he exists. The painting is all the evidence you need. The painting would not be there if the painter didn’t exist. And so it is with God. The existence of the universe itself proves absolutely that there is a creator. And I've debated with alot of ATHEIST, who argue that there is NO GOD but uses the term MOTHER NATURE.... USING THE WORD MOTHER NATURE ALONE SHOWS THAT EVEN SOME ATHEIST ACKNOWLEGE THAT THERE IS SOMEONE OR SOMETHING IN CONTROL.

P.S. IF YOU SEEK YOU WILL FIND..DO YOU REALLY WANNA KNOW IF GOD EXIST? OR IS YOUR MIND MADE UP? ALSO, DO YOU BELIEVE WHAT YOU BELIEVE BECAUSE YOU HAVE PROOF? OR IS IT JUST YOUR OPINION? ARCHOLIGIST HAVE FOUND VERIFYABLE FACTS THAT THE CHRISTIAN BIBLE IS ACCURATE IN ITS WRINGS AND THROUGHOUT HISTORY... IF YOU WANT ANSWERS TO...IF GOD IS REAL. ASK HIM TO REVEAL HIMSELF TO YA...IF YOU DONT ASK..THEN I GUEST YOU REALLY DONT WANT TO KNOW DO YOU?

WITH LOVE,
GOD BLESS

Ugh, you have really caught yourself in a word trap, haven't you?

Let's change your argument to something that we both can agree on, and see if it holds water. Let's change the topic to your chair.

Your arument: If you say you have faith that your chair will not topple over, you must not know it.

If you say having faith is believing things that can't be proven, such as the future knowledge your chair will hold you up, that still doesn't mean you know your chair will hold you up. It means you wish your chair would not fall.

I believe that no one really believes their chair will hold them up for the next ten minutes. You're just a bunch of menatally disturbed fearful people.

Hmm, your argument sounds sort of stupid when you talk about faith using something other than God. Perhaps you do not know what faith is? I KNOW God exists because I have the faith from past experience than when I need Him, He will hold me up :)

As far as I know, everyone believes that there is God, the problem is they lack faith on him because of the challenges they have already face or they are facing right now. It is only in faith where in we can go through against the challenges in life, it is only in faith where in we can do the things that we think we cant do.You know, if we don't believe that god exist, then there is no faith at all.We have the faith because we know that God exist.I have faith because I know that God is there, because if his not there how can I overcome all the problems that I have already face. I have so many experience and i realize that i cannot pass all of those if i don't have faith in God to help me.

Knowing and believing at two different things, and I more so equate believe in G-d with faith in G-d. I know that G-d is there and I have Faith the G-d will be there for me. You can never know what G-d will do, but you can have faith that G-d will do something. Two different things, knowing G-d is there, and having faith in G-d's actions, and your religion.

There's no point in trying to convince you of G-d if you are an Atheist, The only way you would possibly change your religious beliefs is in you.

Belief means to know of the existence of something, such as I believe the moon exists. Like faith we need God's grace to help us believe in Him. He sent His Spirit through baptism for this.

James 2:19
You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.

Mark 9:24
Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!"

John 14:26
But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

Faith is trust that something will adhere to the teachings or understandings of. I have faith that the moon will continue it's next lunar cycle just as it did it's last. But that doesn't mean it will, something weird could happen and the moon could wander away from orbit, or explode, or anything, faith is a strong belief that such things won't happen.

Matthew 14
28"Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water." 29"Come," he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!" 31Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?"

As you can see in Matthew 14, Peter had little faith that the water would hold him up and so he sank. His customary understanding was that one would sink through water, his mind could not grasp any other such idea. The same would be true for the Moon, if the moon was a full moon one day and a new one the next, all your faith in the lunar cycle would be shot.

So although we know god exists, that is believe in Him, it is nothing without the faith that he will keep his commands, testaments, and promises. Since, we are human and falible we cannot have total faith in God by our own, we need his grace.

Ephesians 2
8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast. 10For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

We lack faith in God, because we lack faith in Man. People are liars, cheats, murderers, thieves, etc. When you can't rely on people to come through for you, how much harder is it to have faith that God will come through for you.

You are 100% correct. The only thing I disagree with regarding my fellow atheists is that you should quit pretending to be offended by having the 10 commandments in our courtrooms and allowing anyone in a public school pray if they so desire. It won't hurt anyone if they choose to say a prayer before the school day begins. So just shut up about it who really gives a rats a$$ anyway.

To each his/her own. I could care less if someone decides to pray and worship a statue of the pillsbury doughboy. You shouldn't care about that crap either.
