What can I do? This guy lies through his teeth claiming that I threaten him, peep at his child and make him uncomfortable to cross the front of the house and assorted other lies. This guy has been harrassing me and my wife for years but we've pretty much put up with this psycho's tirades to keep the peace and be good neighbors to our other neighbors. What can we do?

You had to go to court for the restraining order, so what was the evidence cited against you? Why did you not refute the evidence and show compelling evidence of your own in order to get an R.O. against your neighbor. If the judge had realized that this was a neighborly dispute with no compelling evidence on either side he might have suggested arbitration or mediation to fix the problem. So in fact part of this is your fault for not documenting the issues that you state you are dealing with.

Document everything. Video tape, audio... the works. Do this until the restraining order runs out, then when he tries to get it re-issued present your evidence to the judge. at the same time, sue him for everything you can think of , any and every reason. This will get him so crazy that he will blow up in court and the judge will see first hand what you are dealing with.

MYOB. If he has a restraining order he can't come near you either without breaking it. If he harasses you it's breaking the restraining order. Those who know you will know the truth. The rest don't really matter.
