There are some accents that are very hard to lose. The younger you are the easier it is to lose it but you will need to go to a speech coach similar to that which actors use. However it will return if you are surrounded by people who talk similar to yourself.

Don't get rid of it. Be proud of it .I have a broad Devonshire accent and I would not loose it for the world. People think that I'm thick because of my accent but that's their problem. With 5 'A's and 3 'B's, thick I am not. Go to where there are a lot of people and just listen to them speaking. It would be very boring if everyone talked the same. It could be worse you could have a Glasscow or Geordie accent. Or, God forbid a French accent. It's because all the people are different, that makes Britain great.

Why do you want to?
Anyway, best thing to do is not associate with any brummies, just people with whatever accent you want and copy them.

If you have moved out of the midlands it will probably happen naturally, a bit. Try mimicking other accents when you are alone. And if you come across the French word "gite" pronounce it zhyeet and not goit.

Noddy Holder was doing a reunion gig.
He had to go to a retro clothes shop to get his gear as he never kept his old stuff.
The assistant said ok then you'll be needing the high heel boots. Noddy said yes. "and the spangly shirt?" Noddy said yes. "how about a kipper tie?" said the assistant. "Fantastic" said Noddy, "milk and two sugars please!"

I wudn't even attempt to lose my accent, u shud be proud of who u are and where u come from, ......
Remember, its only the 'shallow people' that make the nasty comments regarding our accents.
We are who we are, "you are you, and i am me, please be greatful of WHO you see"....! !
