Ground round or chuck is good for hamburgers. Keep in mind that the best tasting hamburgers need fat in them to keep them moist & flavorful.

Ground chuck makes the best, juiciest burgers, sirloin is too lean. Lightly blend a little salt, pepper and beer (approx. 1 Tablespoon beer per 1/2 lb meat) into meat, shape into patties and grill.

They are both really good grilled. The key to making them juicy is to not handle the burger too much when you are forming the patty. Form a loose patty and don't pack it too tight. Also when the burger is on the grill, don't press on it with the spatula because you will push all the juices out.

I like to use ground chuck in combination with either hot Italian sausage or ground lamb, and sometimes I'll mix ground chuck with Chorizo... Makes for unique, tasty burgs...Imagine all the condiment combinations....YUM!

I sometimes use the same mixture I use for meatloaf. 1/3 ground chuck, 1/3 ground pork and 1/3 ground veal.
