My fellow Americans

You may have noticed Government's increasing detachment from the people. I'd like to remind you of what it's supposed to be like and propose a little street theater to put it back the way it's supposed to be.

What do you think about strapping on the pistol every July 4th, to remind your public servants who is The Sovereign. Exercise your 2nd Amendment rights.

If you can't do this in your State, because your servants think statutes override your Constitutional rights, all the more reason to do it.

Gutsy. But do you trust your neighbors, friends and strangers in public to wear guns, and would you be willing to accept responsibility for anything that happens as a result of your idea? I frankly agree with you, but it would scare me to death to see some angry baggy pants hip hopper listening to "Shoot All The Whiteys" while wearing a gun.

I like street theater, and I like cowboy theater, but unless you are in an organized theatrical presentation, I don't think it's a good idea to go walking around in a large crowd with a gun. I am learning about Colt .45s from the end of the 19th Century to write a western melodrama, so if you are looking for a creative outlet and if you really have a mountain man background (judging on your email address) I'd be interested in learning more.

I'm a Gun owner in a very restrictive state, but don't think your idea is a good one. The only thing you will accomplish by "strapping on your gun" is scare people who don't like guns and cause them to cement the term "gun nut" in their minds.
Instead, write "your" government officals and tell them how you feel.
There are people who want to take "our" guns away, But we must continue to press the intent of the second ammendment as giving the "people" the means to protect themselves.
