Matthew 11.6, my personal favorite; directs the good folk not to take offence as said by Jesus Himself in a message to John the Baptist. I'm not Christian myself but I do think this is correct thinking for any one, what do you think?

Shane2 I'm looking at a new Testament here and that is the passage listed and numbered. I didn't think anything in the Bible was garbage but I respect your right to express your opinion.

kitten the will of God as expressed in the Bible isn't subject to interpretation as I understand, it just is. Study doesn't change that for Christian or us less fortunate souls in my opinion.

Thank you AngiB, I hope that you'll be pleased to know that your pray for me has been answered. I have been graced by the knowledge that God is, although personal visits have as yet not been afforded to myself; it is enough to just know for me.

I've checked a second Bible and the passage is still the same, 11.6 Matthew. Perhaps that could be a problem in Christianity, your not all on the same page; no offence intended.

It all depends on the Christian. A lot of modern Christianity would be (or is) terribly offensive to Jesus and goes completely against what he taught.

I'm not saying Jesus didn't want people to behave righteously, but the biggest part of Jesus' message was about loving other people, being selfless and doing everything you can to serve and help those less fortunate.

Many American Christians have transformed that into the idea of being a favored, chosen people, and if they're better off than some other people, it's how Jesus would want it. Instead of following Jesus' command to serve others, we use our Christianity as an excuse for making others serve us.

I don't know if "offended" is the right word. The belief and conviction that Jesus is the Son of God is the fundamental basis of the Christian faith. Our belief is that we are only passing through this world and that Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven. There is no wavering from this belief. However, I can TOTALLY disagree with your belief, but I don't have the right to not be kind to you.

people of like minds group together out of nessesity.IF a good christian let there 20 year old son move out of the safe controled enviroment into the real world and he went to sanfransisco soon he would be gay so you must instill hate of people like that and keep to your own kind thats why when you drive by churches its like a billboard in the parking lot every one with a magnetic sign on the doors or bold ads on trucks for john the baptist plumbing and heating.
I am appauled at the level of stuoidity of americans and must suffer almost alone in my beleives but god odes not has not nor ever will exist.
NOW something did create the univers but it ends right there.
no one coming to save us no miricles cause not one amputee has ever glrown a limb back in history .hysterical blindness does exist and psychitrists can cure it so no bug miricle there and for me no proof of jesus out side of religion exists .no records or writting or anything of event that the bible purports to have happened infact ever did.

No, I am not offended. I know there is no proof that Jesus was the son of God, and in the Bible, Jesus is quoted as saying he was the son of MAN. It is an interesting theory, but not really very important since the man is long dead and buried.

I believe that each person has the right to believe as he or she chooses, and it's not our place as Christians to be offended simply by what another believes. The Bible says (paraphrasing) that everyone will get offended by something, so you have to decide if the current issue is worth being offended over.

I don't become offended. God gives us a choice. I am sad because Jesus paid the price for everyone, including you my friend, and all you have to do is accept Him. I pray that God will reveal Himself to you and show you the way. God Bless You.

Christianity is an oppurtunity for you to have eternal life. Jesus died for your sins 2000 years ago and had victory over death. It was his love for sinners like you and me that HE gave his life. But by doing this he has again given us hope to have eternal life.

So take it as an oppurtunity to become a true christian believer. This is a fact and is not coerced on anyone. So we welcome infact nonbelievers unto the fold of accepting Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

All that we feel is that as I have been offered an oppurtunity to be with Christ and reign with him for a lifetime ; you should also not miss it !

In that context, offended means ashamed, just as to fear God means to revere and respect. Their words (Hebrew/Greek) have different meaning than ours. That's why it's important to study the Bible, not just read it. Otherwise, ppl interpret it wrong just like you did!
