He will be wearing a naval uniform to our wedding, as most of his groomsmen will be but Im not sure what to get. He's irish too. I didn't want to get him cuff links because I dont think there will be a chance for him to wear them within the next 7 years and they might get lost during his travel. He has limited space to keep things, especially since I have already gotten him a lot of things as care package gifts.

why do you have to get him anything, if you are marrying him then you have given him the the most priceless gift there is.......your heart
if you want a physical gift to give leave a love note, create a romantic evening maybe leave a trail of rose pedals that will lead him to you where you will be waiting with nothing but a big bow for him to untie

There are many great great irish writers and poets. One saying I received on a plaque at my wedding was beautiful and we have recently moved to another country and I took it with me, any of the Irish shops have small trinkets/personal items small enough to carry around wherever he may be :
MAY GOOD LUCK BE WITH YOU
WHEREVER YOU GO
AND YOUR
BLESSINGS OUTNUMBER
THE SHAMROCKS
THAT GROW

Good Luck

I really like the one that said a hand written love letter, it would be something he would cherish always, and could keep with him on board ship. Whatever you do, it should be from the heart. Congrats on your wedding!

maybe a keep sake book which he can take with him on his travels, put pictures of you two in it, write words from your favourite songs, write your feelings for him and how proud you feel to be his wife and your hopes and dreams for your future together. Write all the tings you want to do with him and places you want to go, then cross them off one by one as you do them together.

i like personalized things, i would purchase a family bible and get your names engraved on it with the wedding date. inside put a few pictures of you together. that way you can buy him (and you) a gift that will be passed on to your children.

i was going to say a watch too...or some jewelry, depending if he wears it like a necklace or thick linked bracelet. I think those look nice on guys.

Don't give him an object. Take him somewhere, and make some memories together- something he'll never forget. He will always be able to consider that "carry on".

Go to Build-a-Bear workshop and get him a bear. You can even record your voice for the bear. And I think they have Naval unifroms.

I bought my fiance a necklace. Just a nice, basic chain from the jewelry store. He wears it everyday under his shirts, and I love seeing it on him, it shows me that he like the necklace and loves me :)
