Yeah that happens, don't worry, although that is hard to do! The baby tooth may have interfered with the eruption of the permanent tooth, by not coming out soon enough. As long as the tooth is coming through, he is fine. The dentist will say to give it time and see how it eventually erupts and see if it comes down to the spot it is supposed to be. If it doesn't then orthodontic treatment may be needed to reposition it.
When it comes in all the way, if it is still too forward in the mouth, you can have him push on the tooth, gently but firmly in the direction it should go. Sometimes this, over time, will help the tooth move to where it is supposed to be. My dentist when I was little told me to do that with my canine teeth because they wouldn't come down, well I didn't do it and I needed braces. Oh well.
Unless the tooth is coming straight out of the front of his gums, he should be okay.
But of course it is always best to have it checked out, but I wouldn't consider this a dental emergency.

My son is 7 and he lost his top baby teeth before the Adult teeth came in, but not his bottoms, they came in behind his baby teeth and they were not loose. The dentist had to pull the bottom front 2 baby teeth. If your sons tooth is loose it could be worked out by you it shouldn't effect the new adult tooth but you will need to get the baby tooth out. Work with it and see if you can get it loose enough to get it out within a week or so, of you can't I think you will have to have a dentist pull it. I hope this helped.

I'm a dentist.
Since I don't have a photograph, I don't know how "through the front" his tooth is erupting. However, at the age of seven, it is highly unlikely that orthodontic work would be appropriate.
Besides, teeth often poke through out of place, only to properly position themselves by the time they are fully erupted.
I would recommend that you see the dentist, however, just to be sure.

Most kids lose their baby teeth when they are much younger. If a baby tooth stays in too long, the 'adult' tooth has no place to grow, so it comes in wherever it can---abnormally.
You need to take him to a dentist immediately, who will undoubtedly want to put a brace on that tooth and make it grow in straight.
Go to the dentist, and the sooner the better.

Well something like that happened to me. but it was coming out the side top gum in the front. ( does that make sense) my baby tooth was still there so I went to the dentist and he just pulled my baby tooth out and said that it would grow in just fine, and it did. But I would check with the dentist just to be safe..

Take him to a dentist. please don't listen to advice from people here, only a dentist can tell you for sure how it will turn out and then it's only after he (a trained proffessional) takes x-rays of his mouth to see why the tooth is coming in that way. Best wishes
