When the government is in the realm of the Republicans, it seems we always have a war and it relates to oil. Remember Desert Storm was in the realm of dear old daddy Bush. He caused a repression on top of it. When this recent war happened, GW Bush made himself look good by backing the new hydrogen car. Has there been anything said about that since? We have the hybrid, that is one step, but the gas prices the way they are, it also affects the cost of land development, paving our roads, and heating our homes. This inflation of gas prices also trickles down on everyone in the economy because they have to have a larger budget for gasoline. "Sorry kids, I can't take you to the shore this weekend because I can't afford to drive there" ...so now the vendors at the shore are affected...see how it works....Gee, thanks Mr. Bush.

Well, let's look at what is causing the high prices of gasoline shall we? I hope an education won't tax you too much. The world market works on supply and demand. There is only so much oil and the demand is very high. Not only in this country, but China and India have had an extreme increase in demand for this resource. Thus the general reason the prices are so high. If you do your homework you will also see that china is sucking up resources from all over the world. For another example, we saw Cement prices increase 50% in one fell swoop due to China's need for growth. So you want to blame someone?? Well keep jumping in your SUV and going on over to walmart and your other discount stores make sure everything you buy says "made in China". You are the creating the demand. Not his president.

About oil - not that old chestnut again surely?

Before the war America bought most of the oil. The war stopped the flow of oil from Iraq and even after the war slowed the flow. This led to a shortage of oil to America and therefore hurt it. Now the oil is flowing again America is BUYING the oil again.

The war was about killing innocent people, using chemical weapons against innocent civilians. Are you suggesting that it should not have taken place?

Whether they love or hate America the rest of the world do not think in this conspiracy theory way.

My heart bleeds for the comment about increases in gas prices in the US which has the highest usage of gas at the cheapest prices in the developed world.

If you keep gas at unrealistically low prices why bother with alternative energy sources?

I don't know about this war but get your facts straight on the first Iraq war in the 1990's, Desert Storm. We went to war there to protect Kuwait, because Saddam invaded Kuwait. Nobody in the world had any problem with the U.S. going there, and many other countries joined. Because oil is important to all countries and Iraq had no right to invade Kuwait at that time, so everybody joined in and helped kick them out. Ya, that definitely had to do with oil, as Kuwait is full of it and the whole world didn't want Iraq getting control of that or we'd be way worse off now then if we did nothing. So, this war now is bullsh*t, but the first one was completely and utterly necessary.

Tell you what, slick.... why don't you tell me EXACTLY how much money President Bush is sticking in his pocket? You seem to have all the answers, Poindexter.

Since you want to discuss "the rich", why aren't you mentioning Senator John Kerry and his wife? Why are you ignoring Ted Kennedy and the Clintons? All of them are FAR richer than Bush. So why not discuss them?

I'll tell you why: Because they're Democrats, and you hold them to a different standard.
