He doesn't expect you to worship him. He wants a relationship with you. He wants to do the things families do. He wants to sit and talk, he wants to know what you are feeling. He wants you to listen to his advice, after all he's been around for quite awhile, and done it all.

This was a feature added when a bunch of old guys were sitting around one day trying to figure out the best system of control for the people so along the way while they were committing forgery in piecing together this frankenstein religion, they wrote in alot of paradox's. God is said to be a loving but very jealous god. Gods have better things to do than to be jealous. Jealousy is a sign of lacking confidence which is not very becoming of an omnipotent deity! Since the Romans dropped paganism in favour of the new christian religion since it was the rage, the roman catholic church was born and we all know what crooked bastards they were. Through out time, religion has always been the perfect system of controling the populace, especially when waging a bloody path through the ages with their "convert or DIE" program. We do have free will. . . . to worship any god we want or don't want so long as it makes you happy.

This 'expectation' is really a confusing aspect. What we mean by God, is reference to an all knowing person. Expectation occurs only when there is an uncertainty about anything. So it looks like an interpretation which does not hold value. Worship is an act of acknowledgement of an experience of a higher being within us, and this acknowledgement can be good enough only when one feels a possibility to merge with that higher being.

I know that's right. lets use our head. There is something just sitting up there just making stuff. we all know the sun god, wind god, rain god of the Egyptians are not real. why is our god any different.
I think that was just a man that people believe in. if a person like Jesus was around today, we would put him in a institution.
the world has been around for hundreds of millions of years, why in the last 2 thousand years was this such a big deal.
the odds of him coming back in our lifetimes is worst that winning the lottery. you have 1 in 7 million chance to win that. the world has been around a long time, huh.

First we need to determine which God we are talking about here. Are you referring to the real God, the unconditionally loving God who we are all a part of? This is the one Jesus was talking about when he said the kingdom of God is within you. The one who is our dearest friend and closest companion.
Or are we talking about the angry little judgmental God that lives on some far off cloud called heaven. The one who seems to be more concerned with our errors than he is with our successes? You know the egocentric needy little God that always wants people to worship him. The one who is always unavailable because he is only a fantasy? You need to specify if you want a real answer.

God does not expect anything. You will simply read in His Word that it is the best way to live. It is then your choice to do so or not. It ain't for His benefit, it is for yours. He is trying to teach us that serving is the best way. If we all served each other all the time what a wonderful place this would be, ahem? We were never suppose to be without God in our lives leading and teaching us all the time. It was the choice of the first couple, Adam and Eve, to go their own way. We have all be following suit ever since. We now have to make the choice to return to the right way of thinking. It ain't about religion it is about reality.

His are the expectations of a lover toward His beloved.
He wants His love for us to be returned as our love for Him.
Most of what seems to be testy outbursts on His part are completely understandable if you put them into a romantic context.
Imagine how YOU'D feel if the one you loved most of all kept deliberately trying to get your goat, or kept hurting you, or kept being unfaithful to you.
For greater insight, read the Book of Hosea about the prophet and his problems with his wife, Gomer. See how he treated her and how she treated him. And realize that Hosea's life story is a remarkably apt statement of the relationship which exists between God and man.
Then read the Song of Solomon and remember it's a love poem. Put God as the male and man as the female, ignore the physically explicit parts and try to hold your concupiscence in check while reading. It will give a very clear picture of how God wants man to respond to His love and care.
He expects what every lover expects from the beloved, LOVE.
Since He is also God, a part of that love SHOULD be worship, for no matter how much love there is, He is STILL GOD, and we are still human.

The god never expects worship from us. He is statue of love and
he only expect love from us . any religious literature does says for all the action which we are doing daily for pleasing the god .
the god only expect from us the word which we can say in hindi 'shradha aur wishvas ' i,e.belief . it is our duty to worshiping him because it will only be the return of all with thank
which he has given us.
because if a frind gives you pen you says him thank as being a good human . now think god has given us a lots of think so we can not say him thank by the means of worship.

If God did not give us free-will then we would have no control over what we do and say and you would not be asking this question. So if God JUST wanted people to worship Him we would have no free-will but we would worship Him constantly. Parents tell sons/daughters not to talk to strangers, should child say why do my parents expect me to listen to them since I have free-will.

It's not expectation - it's desire.
If you created something beautiful, gave it life, and knew that if it would just desire you, you would give it more beauty - wouldn't you desire it to turn to you?
And wouldn't you give it every chance you could to turn to you, and try to guide it back to you?
If you do not understand this simple concept - you will never understand God or have the makings of a parent that guides a child instead of dominates a child.
