Why not go in for life insurance and have double accident relief etc as an add on. May be you bget wider coverage for more or less same premium.

Depends on how the policy is written.
If you can find one that gives you $10,000 per finger or $60,000
per hand and you work, for example,at saw mill then what you have to do should you slip is pretty well spelled out here.
Don't go for the accidental death policy because you end up
with nothing.

Not really, you notice how much cheaper it is? Reason, accidental death must be immediate, if you linger for a day, if is complications from, etc. Dismemberment, must be the same, amputation by surgery, is complications resulting from....

Not for the person the policy is on. Insurance is always a crappy bet. You bet something lousy is going to happen, the insurance company bets it isn't. The higher the premiums, the more likely you "win" the bet.
