Because most religious people embrace one scientific notion at least, that of Occam's razor; they believe the simplest explanation is the most likely, so in response to such questions as "How did the universe begin?" they find it easier to say "god did it" than to dig for real truth. People are generally intellectually lazy!
note to mareo: Yes, people with 'real faith' do seem happier, don't they? just look at all those smiling palestinians and israelis!

Both Scientist and the Religionist have the same goal in Mind. "To Search out the Truth". Though the process used by them is different.
Science Rely on Sences (eyes, ear, nose etc) to gather Knowledge. Their Instruments all are meant to enhance the facility of the sences. They need to see, hear to believe.
Religion Rely on Authority of God and God's Messengers to know the truth.
We all know that our sences, our movement, our eyes are all limited and we even get illusioned. Our life span is too less. This makes Science endevour very difficult. On top of that Men have tendency to Err and even cheat. These are the limitation of Science Endevour to know the truth.
God on the other hand is perfect. He is the creator and hence has all the knowledge of the truth. so getting knowledge from him would be the best process. But the difficulty is that Men who present the knowledge have tendency to Err and even cheat. Some times to suit the people they even change what is given by God.
So what can be done?
Vedic Literatures states that even though Religion may have many false representation of Truth, a true seeker will be helped by God himself.
For Scientist its no way out. They only rely on seeing, hearing, smelling etc to gather knowledge and all this has limitation. Like there is a range for hearing, seeing. Science has not even able to find out the basic thing that constitute or differentiate a living from dead.
But As it is Said a sincere seaker wether Religionist or God or even Athiest will be helped by God as he is the supreme Father.
We only need to be humble and enquisitive.

Science has everything to do with religion and spirituality; because In the beginning GOD created the heavens and the earth. It is up to scientist to pray and ask the LORD to help them solve any problems or answer any questions they may have to take care of the planet. The LORD will answer a sincere prayer if one has started a personal relationship with the LORD JESUS CHRIST. This is done my coming to the realization that one is a sinner born in sin. God the Father loves the lost and dying world through the cross of His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus has paid for the sin debt of every single person that has ever lived or will live. But one must ask the Lord in prayer to save them from their sin and be their personal Savior from sin. Then one will have started a personal relationship with God's Son the Lord Jesus. Once this relationship has started you can ask the Lord anything in prayer and He will answer the prayer.

I am not religious- I think God IS everything. I believe that God is Love- the source of good, etc etc. I do not believe that God is humanlike. I do not believe we are made in "his" image. I believe God is a genderfree source of divine creative loving energy. As you come to troubles in your life, you can resolve them in positive ways by staying focused on making good choices. Let positive, loving, ethical decisions pervade your life, live by example, be your personla best, when love is the focus of your life it is the focus- ya know?
Faith without Science is Fanaticism, Science without Faith is Materialism.
We need faith to remind us we really don't know everything and that its ok.
We need science to mimic creation in controlled environments.
Looking at the origin of the word spirit we discover that it means air.
I suggest you look into interfaith dialogue, unitarian philosophy, and buddhism- Buddhism is a beautiful spiritual practice that involves being present and not so concerned about God. After all, we are on earth, we should appreciate this experience and be glad for it.

Because God is the answer to everything! Science is only possible through the use of the God given human intellect to understand things in our world.

Actually, science is part of this world that we, as christians, believe God created. I have found that science supports much of what the Bible has put forth as true.
I love this website to see how science and religion can coexist quite well.

The bible says.."Do all things for God's GLORY"..1Cor 10:31..
for true Christians, as far as possible, that includes everything, including answering questions...
Christians believe the God of the Bible is the master scientist..Genesis 1:1

Because he made us!! He gave us the brains and the ability to do the science, (many are Christian because of the science)
He made us with a Spirit and with emotions. so where else but the Creator has the answer to everything!!!

He IS the answer to everything. He created everything (so I am told) and he allows everything to happen. If He wanted things to change, surely He could just snap his spiritual fingers and make changes, but He apparantly can`t be bothered.
