Yes. He was a pedophile. He married his "wife" when she was 6 yrs old.

I believe in some schools of Islam you can marry any woman who is half your age plus seven. So that means as long as Mohammed was not any older than 10 when this occurred, its all in the clear. By the way, there is really no reason to marry somebody that young. They seldom have a job or money, often they are not even menstruating so there is no ability to produce children, usually they are fairly ignorant and lacking in life skills. Just find yourself an adult woman man! It's not that hard! They're everywhere!

Here is a fun fact. There are still many places in Europe where is no age restrictions.
Legal age for a girls to marry in USA was 12 until about 120 years ago.
Just 2 years ago, There was a marriage performed in Spain with a man and a 10 year old girl.

If judged by a modern western perspective, then yes.
If judged by a biological perspective, then no.
For the vast majority of human history, as soon as a female was capable of becoming pregnant, she was considered to be a woman. One thing you have to bear in mind is that the average life expectancy thousands of years ago was quite commonly the early 30s, if that. Teenagers would technically be considered middle-aged back in such times.
Infant and mother mortality also tended to be quite high, since complications at birth or soon after weren't able to be dealt with like they are today. Given the lengthy maturation process of a human and couple it with this high mortality, and you have a situation where new babies must be produced as soon as possible to help maintain, or expand, a given population at the time.
So in closing, there would be nothing malicious or deviant in a person of that era getting married to a person we would consider a child now. Also bear in mind that in many parts of the United States, as well as other countries, females as young as 14 can still get married to older men or can legally give consent.

Back before people had sense enough to not throw their poo around and bathe frequently, people were inbreeding and men died sometimes before they even grew a beard! Women actually died from having kids and so it was the way of the world to screw yourself silly before you died young. Punk Rawk!

yes Mohammad married to her cuz he wanted to show the world that marrying to a girl much younger than u is ok....in the same way he married to a lady when she was 40 and he himself was 25 to only show that marrying to a lady elder than u is also ok...

History says it was much worse than you think. Mohammad robbed and killed his own people and stole their possessions-that is how he financed the religion he founded-he was a murderer and a thief-read history. That is not just my opinion.
