Are you a good person? Have you ever lied, stolen ( anything no matter how small?) Ever looked on someone with lust? Used God's name as a curse word? If so by your own admission you are a lieing, thief, adulter at heart. If God judges you by the 10 Commandments would you be innocent or guilty? Would you go to heaven or hell? Please remember if a judge here on earth would not let you go just becasue you said he was good and because you just asked him forgiveness, How much more is God good. Being a good God he must punish sin where it is found, and just asking forgiveness will not work.
To escape God's wrath you must REPENT from your sin. Turn from it and forsake it. You must put your trust in Jesus that he will save you.
You will never be good enough yourself to go to heaven. We all deserve DEATH.

I'm wondering, is this a rhetorical question or are you for real? no one is good. so no one can get into heaven. However, there is a resolution to your question. There are four major things that Jesus said that will get you to see and live with God, and have eternal life.
1. Love the Lord God with all your heart.
2. Confess and believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, and that he died for our sins, and was risen from the dead by God himself.
3. Love your neighbor as yourself.
4. Repent and be saved.
So now you know.

You must believe in a different God than i do. My God will forgive me when i ask for it from the heart. The God i believe in will wipe my sins away when i ask him to forgive me. Jesus was allowed by God to die on the cross for my sins, whatever the sin might be. A human judge, in our courts, can't just forgive anyone and let them go because the judges authority is given by humans not by God. God, being the maker of laws is able to forgive and wash you of your sins. Therefor, with God on my side, i believe i'm good enough to get into heaven. If God didn't forgive completely when we ask from our heart then he would eventually be very lonely up there in heaven because nobody would get in.

And surely death will come as a thief in the night,but the bible says all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.Nobody is perfect or can claim to be and you have part of your story right,God will chastise you for wrong doings,but he also loves us and sent his only begotten son to die for our sins,sin is forgivable,we can only pray and do our best to serve God while we are here,He knows we are not perfect but loves us anyways!God bless:O)
