There is no one in history that has been given more names or titles than Jesus Christ. If you've read through the Bible carefully then you know what I mean.
Throughout the pages of Holy Writ over 100 names and titles are given to Jesus. And whether He is called "Bright morning star, Wonderful Counselor, the Root of Jesse, the Alpha and the Omega, or the Lamb of God", each of these names and titles is rich with meaning. They all say something significant about who Jesus is.
However, there is no name more significant than "Immanuel". This name, which Matthew refers to in his Gospel (Matthew 1:23), was first given to Jesus by the prophet Isaiah 700 years before His birth (Isaiah 7:14). And this very special Christmas name, as Matthew tells us, means "God with us." Jesus Christ is Immanuel, "God with us," and I'd like to share why this is so meaningful at Christmas time.

Isaiah 7:14 and Matthew 1:23 are nearly identical. Isaiah the prophet in the Old Testament, prophesizing and the Book of Matthew, written by St.Matthew in the New Testament fulfilling the prophecy of the Old Testament.. Both say virgin. I cannot claim it is correctly virgin from Hebrew to English because I do not and cannot speak or read Hebrew. I would have to learn that for myself.(and not knowing of customs etc then, a young lady and virgin might be synonyms).
Matthew 1:23 is preceded by 1:22 that says "...that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the the prophet saying, Matthew 1:23 ,... and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Matthew 1:21 says, spoken to Joseph"And she shall bring forth a son and thou shalt call his name JESUS:for he shall save his people from their sins."
What I would have to question is the meaning of the word shall and shalt in Hebrew. Is that a command or permission. Again, I would have to learn that for myself.
The word Christ itself means "son of God."
In the case that the Hebew word shall is permission then your position about using the name Immanuel or Emmanuel is false, because I may pray to Immanuel "God with us" or Jesus "son of man" or Christ "son of God" all with a single reference to the Savior. And not just I am able to call him Immanuel but so all believers in Jesus. God says He is always the same which means man may change but God does not. So again, I would have to know if context would change the words, as context changes English words.
After seeking I did find in Isaiah 8:8."....and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel." This says to me that the pre incarnate Jesus was directly called Immanuel. Prophesy fulfilled.
What are "Plenty of Unfulfilled Prophecy?" Did I miss something? and "Enough to prove that current Bible is not the word of God"
Current implies "present" which would then imply a past and a future Word of God. Nope. It is Gods word, which does not change.
By the way, what you have not taken into account is that calling Jesus Immanuel does not necessarily have to be documented in the Bible. If I call him Immanuel right this minute, then he has been called Immanuel, which would fulfill the prophecy, right? That is, if Isaiah 8:8 is not sufficient for you. I know of churches with Immanuel in the name of the church.
Peace to you. Know that you are loved by God and by Jesus the Christ.
Like they say in any long line "NEXT!"...
P.S. _I_ dont want to address anything that is unimportant to you, but _I_ also dont want to ignore anything that is important to you, concerning a certain thing. _I_ cant say...sorry _I_ cant say, _I_ dont know if what _I_ am concerned about is hearsay hogwash or a real issue.

This can be answered by Isaiah chapter nine, verses six and seven:
“For there has been a child born to us, there has been a son given to us; and the princely rule will come to be upon his shoulder. And his name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Nowhere do we read that any of Jesus’ apostles or disciples identified him by these names.
The emphasis is on the ROLE Jesus plays.
That's why Matthew gave us the meaning of the term namely, “With Us Is God.”

Immanuel means 'God with Us'
He is referred to by himself and many others as 'Son of God'
It was also said that he would be called wonderful counselor, mighty god, prince of peace.
They are nothing but titles, as Immanuel is a title also.

Brother, don't make your life miserable like this. If you find the good word of God in the Coran, that's good. Read it. Study it. Try to live up to it. That's what it's all about.

Na, I can't agree with you.......then again, my Daddy told me when we were swine farmers years ago, "Never argue with the pigs, son. It just wastes your time and annoys the pigs".
