I believe China as a developing economy is flourishing. Also Japan, They are solvent ,not in debt, while we are in debt to both. In looking up developing economies on the web I noted more than one article referring to rice in West Africa. This is encouraging and would be so welcomed as a local product and exportable commodity.

Everyone will, of course, say China and India (and rightfully so). But another good one to look out for is Poland, which has had steady GDP growth and relatively low inflation. The challenges for them are in improved labor market and a national economic policy which is more in tune with a modern economy. The other little gem these days is Singapore, which is growing economically faster than both China or India.

The only problem is the government won't allow full free speech to its citizens.

BRAZIL! They are going to be completely self-sustaining in production of alternate fuels (i.e. ethanol) by 2010, they have only about 20-30% of arable land in production, and a huge labor force which is relatively untapped. As soon as they straighten out some troubles with governmental corruption they'll be dominating global economics.

China and India are the two most prevalent ones. They are developing so quickly that it is difficult to keep up with them. Many countries are showing promise, with the outsourcing of so many jobs.
