Not sure what you are asking here. Definition of what?

If it is police - Many European countries have several different types of police. Local, National and Guarda. America has a whole host of diffent types of police.

Wherever it is each police force has it's own remit and limits to it's authority and area of operation.

Same general definition. They all carry sticks that they hit you with if you do something wrong.
