Abstinence is a great way to protect yourself, however everyone answering this question is here because some where someone had sex. Its a fact of life, even a good little christian is going to make some mistakes in life, or better yet fall for some one and make some love. When this does happen, honestly, openness, respect and CONDOMS are your best bet. Although they don't protect against everything, they do a darn good job, and they do protect agaisnt HIV. Learn to use one right to keep yourself safe!

Abstinence. But if u are still going to have sex use a condom with spermicide on it and then also use spmericidal lubricant. This has been shown to increase protection. The spermicide kills sperm, if u don't know. Also you can stay in a monogomous relationship and both of you be tested before you have sex, and then get tested with a new person if you break up and start a new relationship.

Oh my freaking.....grrrrrrrrrr....
That's the best way to be protected from stds if you are going to have sex with someone...if you're not...then obviously you only need to worry about...hmmm:

Sharing needles (diabetic tests or heroin, it's all the same) or getting blood mixed up between you both (Have you seen COPS?)

Every once in a blue moon making out is unsafe...especially for those with bleeding gums or sores(for crying out loud, do you know how many germs you're swapping?)

IF you are GOING to have SEX then use a CONDOM! It's so simple...why don't people get that???

I guess the politically correct answer would be no sex. But in the real world, that isn't going to happen. I would say continue to use condoms and only have sex with people who you know for sure where screened and negative for STD's

Condoms don't protect against HPV as it maybe not exactly in the genital region that is covered by a condom. So either abstinence or use a female condom and saran wrap. Don't laugh, I swear that is what some health departments teach female inmates to use.

abstandance is the best way and if the woman is not completly turned on she will become pregnet because her vergina forms a seal around the egg that keeps the sperm out until the woman is turned on its a womans natural condom but don't rually on that alone it won't protect agenst STD's otherwise try non intercorse sex or get a clnic to help you

nothing protects 100 percent except abstinence. i'd say safest thing would be to have TWO forms of protection, aka birth control for her and a condom. (dont double up on condoms though, itll make them rip)

You and your soon to be sex partner can both go get checked out before you do the do. Then you know for sure that neither one of you have anything. A little much but well worth it!!

Condoms are very effective. Put them on before the train starts to roll.
