I've read that organics contain more essential nutrients, but I take supplements for that. Please give me your thoughts on why I should spend more on organic veggies?

You have to read the book by Kevin Trudeau, Natural Cures "They" Don't Want You To Know About. Eating things that are not organic, you are automatically ingesting more toxins and we could never take enough supplements to compensate for our lack of nutrition. Supplements are good but you have to give them something to supplement, which would be organic fruits and veggies, even your supplements need to be organic or you defeat the purpose. All natural. People always whine about the prices of organics, overall, the cost is not much higher than the empty calories and loaded chemicals we buy from the chain grocery stores, with organics you are getting more of the natural product, so you don't have to eat as much of it, because it is filling, you get more nutrients, which makes you body wake up and say, we got work to do breaking down this real food. So, spend the extra $10 on your health, you're going to spend the money anyway, why not spend it on something that is good for YOU.

There are a lot of advantages to organic. For one thing, they TASTE better than those styrofoam strip mined foods from factory farms, even tho they often LOOK uglier.

You know you aren't getting a bunch of chemicals with your foods, though you may be getting compost and manure. Even organic should be well washed.

Organic farming is better for the environment; not only are organic farming methods more environmentally sound than those of factory farm, but the product is more often locally grown. It creates a lot of pollution to ship tomatoes from Mexico to Minnesota.

Organic produce is usually fresher, since it isn't especially developed to have a long shelf life. Those supermarket tomatoes may have been picked 2 weeks ago (when green as grass and hard as rocks), and then gassed just before arrival you are market to 'force' them into becoming red and soft.

Organic products are usually produced by smaller family oriented businesses rather than by huge conglomerates like Tyson Foods or Archer Daniels Midland.

Organic foods distributors are more likely to be committed to 'fair trade' products than big agribusinesses and distributors. You may have heard that Whole Foods Market stopped doing business with a conglomerate upon learning that ONE of their many activities involved pate foie de gras.

Organic animal farming is less cruel to the animals.

In SOME (but not all) cases, organic foods are superior in nutritional value. A food can't be rich in minerals if the soil it grows in is mineral poor.

organic- free from preservatives, free from all the pesticides, free from chemical. which means that whatever nutrient or bacteria or whatever good/bad germs will remain in it. i don't think that it's reasonable to be spending on organic stuff as it really doesn't make that much of a difference, except on the balance on your bank account. but if anyone has no problems financially and if they would feel better/healthier choosing organic products- go ahead people~~ i wouldn't want to spend that much.

I have tried both organic and non-organic and I did not notice a difference in the taste. But, I did notice a difference in the price. A huge difference in the price.

There aren't any shown health advantages to "organic and organic" nutrients, and in reality maximum of what's categorized as "organic and organic" nonetheless makes use of insecticides, merely those that were usually in use earlier the "organic nutrients revolution". it is also controversial (or a remember of "own flavor") even if there is any measurable large difference in style. the in person-friendly words valid reason to eat organic and organic, is that so-observed as organic and organic meat products come from animals dealt with with somewhat extra understand even as they were farmed. They nonetheless were given killed, chopped up, and grew to change into into burgers and steaks! yet i'd particularly eat a lifeless satisfied cow, i wager!

I don't know if organic is always better for you, I have noticed it's fresher, costs more and rots faster. So whatever you buy, you should use ASAP.

I do know that any nutrients you can get from food is more effective than getting it in pill form. Hope this helps.

The most noticeable difference is the price, but I keep buying organic anyways, so I think I am just being duped by some marketing ploy.

you shouldn't.............. just kidding:). so you wouldn't eat or put chemical into your body that non-organic have. If Non-organic have things on it that kills bugs then think about it in your body. Not a pretty thing, right
