Yes, there are STD's that are possible. I actually ran into gonorrhea down someone's throat. Of course it was a woman's throat from a man's penis, I do know that herpes is possible to spread with cunnilingus and crabs are possible. Remember herpes can be spread without visible lesions. I think both partners being checked out is best and should now be in fashion. Too many have suffered taking things for granted.Treat both of you being checked as an act of caring. Good luck

Safer sex includes practices that reduce the risk for contracting sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV (the virus that causes AIDS). These practices reduce contact with the partner's body fluids, including ejaculate from a man's penis (semen), vaginal fluids, blood, and other types of discharge from open sores. Safer sex reduces but does not totally eliminate risk. For example, using a condom correctly and every time for vaginal, oral, or anal sex greatly reduces, but does not totally eliminate, the risk for transmission.
Unprotected anal sex and vaginal sex with an infected person carry a high risk for disease transmission. Anal sex is especially risky because it can result in tiny tears or cuts in the rectum. Viruses can enter the body more easily through these breaks in the skin than through intact, healthy skin. Unprotected oral sex carries a lower risk but is not risk-free. The use of drugs or alcohol can increase the risk for getting an STI or HIV/AIDS, because people under their influence may be less careful about practicing safer sex.

I am in ER nurse, and I often see many patients who come in with thrush, which is a yeast infection of the mouth. So if your girlfriend has a yeast infection down there, you can get a yeast infection in your MOUTH...yum!
Also there are tiny cuts in our gums from brushing, so our mouths have a great risk of infection. Whatever your girlfriend has down there can transfer.
