Fun stuff. Sparklers, a mixed cd, polaroid camera, etc. Most people who throw barbecues have way more food and drink prepared than will get eaten anyway.

Taco salad!! MMM...sounds good. Just brown about a pound of ground beef (or more if there is going to be a lot of people there)....season it with taco seasoning. Then cut up some lettuce, tomato, green onion and black olives (optional). Let the meat cool and mix all the other ingredients together. Then add salsa and a little ranch dressing...crush up some doritos and regular tortilla chips and add that to the mix...add the meat and mix the whole mixture together. Then add your favorite shredded cheese. It is so good and it is very easy.

How about a potato salad or pasta salad? Those are always great for cookouts during the summer!

Citronella candles, several different types of bug spray, wet ones, trash bags, deck of cards, dominoes, notepad and pen for score, plenty of zip lock bags and foil for those who take food home, this should make you a real asset to any picnic. Maybe a first aid kit, too.

I would call the host and ask what they would like for you to bring. It would help them the most.
