My question is my cario. doesn't want to see me back for a year but i am having pains in my chest like 2 times on wednesday and 3 times today. i am just wondering if i should gop to the emergency room or just wait a year? (no Insurance)

Chest pain can be serious. You need to go back to your cardiologist and explain that you have new symptoms.

The chest pain could be related to the SVT - if so, you need better control of the arrhythmia. It could also be angina, which means that your heart isn't getting enough oxygen, and you may be on your way to a heart attack. It could also be non-cardiac pain, caused by esophageal reflux or soreness of the cartilage near the ribs.

The only way to find out is by getting more tests. You may need an ECG, exercise stress test, or echocardiogram. Sometimes the results from one test will lead to other tests to find out what is causing the pain.

Go get yourself taken care of. If the chest pains do not subside quickly with rest, then get to an emergency room ASAP.

Chest pain is a symptom that says something isn't right...you do NOT wait...you see a physician ASAP! An EKG and some blood work as well as a chest xray will rule in or rule out a cardiac problem. By the way, you could try to get insurance, but most insurance companies may hesitate to insure you for an existing problem. Some will cover the problem after a year....Do NOT wait for insurance....you may not live long enough for coverage if you are not treated for your cardiac problem(s) promptly.

I had SVT (supraventricular tachycardia) and had to see an electrophysiologist for an ablation last October. I too am still on beta blockers. Finally, it was so bad I couldn't stand my heart beat anymore, so I did the ablation. I still have palpitations, but not nearly as bad as it was before I had the cath.
If your having chest pain, it would probably be better to go see the doctor. It can be any number of things, but your better off to be safe than sorry.
