To comply with safe food handling regulations, deli meats sold in super market delis are not raw, they are fully cooked and ready to eat. Those that look pink are that way because the smoking of meat often gives it a pink color inside. Raw meat cant be kept open right next to raw meat, that is why the deli and butcher departments are not in the same cooler.

No... it's cooked. At least the ones I've seen. Maybe some people serve it raw, but it would be rare, and definitely not deli meat.

It's cooked. Some is smoked. Other than steak tar tar and sushi raw meat is not eaten.

i don't eat meat at all... but, no genius. its not raw. they cook it. you can get salmonella from uncooked poultry (among other things).
